So. What’s this section going to look like this winter? Mirage, Marshall, Hibbing, CEC in that order?

Haven’t the Mirage youth teams been really strong the last few years? Have to believe they’ll be solid. But I don’t know these teams... just grateful for some dialog on the board! Happy 4th! Also happy roughly 120 days until the highs school hockey season!

Yes. Interesting. Hermantown youth girls hockey has 5 youth teams: 15A, 12A, 12b, 10b, and 10b. CEC has a 12b and a 10b squad. 8th and 9th graders in CEC program play JV. Cloquet will be stacked but the senior goalie graduated leaving only very young netminders to replace her. Should be interesting. Goaltending is so huge on a high school squad.

I posted this in July with 4 total responses to date. Sad

Procter has had a group that’s had a lot of success in girls around this age group. Blake plays them over Thanksgiving - should be a good test if they’re ready for a big stage.

Top Tier:
Hermantown - The girls program is at the point now where they can just reload year after year. It's going to take an off game during sections for them to be unseated.
Second Tier:
Duluth Marshall - Lost a lot of seniors, so it will be interesting to see who steps up to fill their shoes. Scoring is going to be a problem for them most likely.
Hibbing/Chisholm - Lost an All-State goalie, who kept them in all games. They didn't lose much for scoring, but it wasn't exactly like they were lighting the lamp frequently last year either.
CEC - This might be their last true chance at a section championship this year. They have talented seniors who can score. What they don't have is a proven goalie. It might be a first team to 5 wins type of year for them.
Third Tier:
Everyone else... The only program that looks to have a competitive future in the next few years is Moose Lake. They have some talented youth players that will need time to develop.

First off, it was in July. Second maybe it's not because of the subject.
