Gotta step in and defend Slap Shot. I don't see any evidence of him tearing down any player, simply pointing out the numbers for this season. Don't see any reason to rip him/her for pointing out things that you may happen to disagree with. Clearly, the results were much better for the Centennial goalie as a junior than as a senior, albeit with a markedly different team in front of her. By the looks of it, Maple Grove and Lucy Morgan were the superior team last Friday. One thing on which I think we can all agree is that Minnesota has a very strong goalie contingent this year and that Frank has elevated above the rest of that group recently. To me, it looks like there are more good goalies than available spots to play for everybody.

With respect to everybody, This is a no brainier Frank wins it hands down. It is body of work over career. She has been in the top ten in GAA and Save % from 9th grade on and single highhandedly got her team into the state tourney. The only knock about her until now was she had not won the big one. Which she has done now. Morgan is a great kid has had a strong two years. MG is below average without her. Kunitz is the reason Warroad is as good as they are. Hats off to Izzy,he knew Warroad would be mediocre at best if he didn't go out and find someone. He also got Phaneuf and others to make Warroad the team they are. The other two are good goalies but don't play anyone. If you truly want to have a discussion include the two best goalies in the state which are playing boys. One on Lakeville North JV and the other the FLAKE varsity starter.

I think we should also throw the senior goalie currently at Gentry Academy in the discussion. Had she stayed at Hill-Murray this year, the 4AA section final might be in its 22nd overtime right now.

Is there any weight given to how one's team does? How many of the candidates have helped lead their team to the STATE tourney? It is a team game and there is A LOT to be said about a player that makes their team better in addition to making their teammates better.

WBL is sitting at home with a lot of other teams without the goaltender. I think that debate should be over! BUT, does FROSTY decide? We will soon find out....
