Re: nahl-owatonna
I don't know everyone else's feelings on this but I think it is great to have an NAHL team. Since it is not a USHL team, it shouldnt take away any top MN players early from HS which is the key as far as i'm concerned. It should also promote more hockey in the southern part of the state, which will have nothing but a positive affect on programs down there.

Sorry - I can't leak out the coaches names at this point. I don't think the three coaches know who their competing against either.

Should be this week since the scouting and recruiting is going on as we speak.

Good for hockey
I may be jumping off the cliff with the lemming ahead of me, but I think this team just may actually work, especially if they recruit kids from around the area and not Canada or too many other states. Best of luck Southern Minnesota Express.... I'm guessing there logo will have a train?
<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/grin.gif ALT=" >D">

tapped out
Minnesota is tapped out. I bet we see record numbers of kids playing in the NAHL this year from Minnesota. It seems like 15 teams have tryouts up here or recruit heavily from Minnesota, then add another team to take about 20 more MN kids!!

Records I tell you...Records!!!

puckhead63. great news on the new nahl franchise. keep the posts coming on it's progress. will play begin in fall 05? which rink will they use? you can't spill the beans on the coaching selection...understandable. i'll put money, however, on a viable head coach...craig sarner. successfull elite coach. good rapport with the kids. well connected to the "minnesota" player-pipeline. juniorhockey, minny is not tapped out. the state youth program numbers bear out strong and continued interest in the game.
