Section 2A Hockey

Post by 2AHockeyGuru »

Correction on my last comment i meant the larger cloquet rink. I agree with DB33 in that Mora will have to play a discliplined game and stay out of the box (although they have about as many shorties as power play goals on the season), but i don't expect scc to give up any breaks on the pp. I think mora will definitely have to keep the composure out there and not get aggrevated with the officials. SCC ties up the skaters on teams that are faster than them, which goes usually uncalled and pisses mora off. I think this game is a tossup but mora has a couple of players who can dominate the game and they are seniors on their last hurrah, this team will not go down easy and I pick them in the upset 5-2 (one empty netter)

marshallhockeyrules,
I follow Marshall. Why would you think you would lose by that much? Was beating Superior, and East losing just by luck? I see that DM might lose but i think that they would at least be in the game. Personally i do not think that is a good reason to not play any team, just because you think you would be killed. I would welcome the competition. It really does not matter. I have moved on from that, if it happens it happens.

It is nice to have another Marshall fan! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

MKMB, I doubt he was serious. Something about the 27-0 rung a familiar bell with me.

Lee

marshall vs east

Post by marshallhockeyrules »

ok maybe 27-0 was a little over the top but still east would kill us plus i heard that in the game vs superior they had 4kids sick and two of them didnt even play until the third. marshall has some good kids this year but talent wise east would kill us... i hate how everyone in our school is so cocky and think they could kill east...i would like the game to happen but my fellow marshall people should be prepared to be embarrassed if the game goes on my predicted score would be 7-2

marshallhockeyrules, East vs. Marshall would be one heck of a game to watch. No doubt, a heck of a game for the players to be a part of. It's time for these two schools to make an annual meeting happen.

Lee

Let's get a little more in depth with this...stat-wise

Post by east hockey »

East and Marshall had four common opponents this year.

East..........3-2, 23 GF, 18 GA
Marshall.....4-0, 29 GF, 1 GA

Small sample size to be sure, but nothing to create an impression that East would win to be even more sure. I'd say one goal either way if both teams played their best game.

Also, for what it's worth, PageStat has had these two teams within a half-point of each other during the past five weeks. Marshall currently has a 0.11 advantage.

Lee

marshallhockeyrules,
No one in the right mind from Marshall would think Marshall would kill East. By the way be careful what words you use. Swearing is not allowed, you would not want to get kicked off, considering you just joined.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub33.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUser ... mb>MKMB at: 2/27/04 11:18 pm

Post by marshallhockeyrules »

when east is playing their best hockey no one would be able to stop them...only centennial and east proved it when they played morehead this season routing them 4-1 but the score made it sound close i belive the shots were 38-11 in favor of east...if they play the hockey they are capable of playing we would just get owned!
GO MARSHALL YOUR 2003-2004 SECTION 2A CHAMPS!!

i was reading a few posts back and someone said that cloquet is an olympic rink. i dont know if anyones posted on this, but its normal 200x85. its on rinkfinder.com keyword cloquet. an olympic sheet of ice would have definately played into DM's favor. lets get the games rolling.

east hockey- are u goin to the games today at cloquet?

puckiNnet19, I did see both games today. East looked good. Grand Rapids looked very good today. Even while they were being outshot badly in the first period, you could tell they were the better team. Whatever concerns their fans had about Davis earlier in the season, they shouldn't worry now. Better fans too, but I'm saving that for a different thread.

Lee

Mora Why??

Post by DB33Three »

Well the Mustangs are done no more RinkRat, No more EastCentralguy and no more 2AGuru. Well I would just like to say I told you so I said stay out of the Box and you boys took 52 minutes of penalties thats terrible!!! And I said the second line guys need to step up well they were to busy taking dumb penalties!!! Well thats what happens when ya play a JOKE of a schudule as Mora did not know what to do against a good team Congates to SCC on the win. DM vs SCC should be a classic game. AS for Mora well they lose all there Fire Power next year will be a LONG YEAR!!! Well good luck to the final 2 teams shoudl be a good one!!

DB, i suppose its better than coming on here and making excuses about why their team lost. The RinkRat fella was really excited about his team and thought they really would win this section. But really, they didn't have any depth at all.

Crazy Things

Post by 2AhockeyOldTimer »

I observed some crazy things in yesterday's game....But Geissler's goal was just insane. It was the most unexpected thing I think I have ever seen.

Also in the SCC vs. Mora game, Grabowski and Corbett were both sent off the ice and it appeared as if they were cheering about it. The good Defensemen Horbacz had a 10-minute misconduct, but I thought he was a classy kid, along with the other Horbacz. I wish him luck next year as he may have a tough time with Him being the only returning talent.

One last thing and then I'll put an end to this rambling, that Bliss kid has an outrageous glove. He made some huge glove saves, and the goals he let in he had not chance of stopping.

2A Semi's

Post by 2AHockeyGuru »

Well DB33, you were right in that we needed to stay out of the box, but we outshot SCC. Bliss played a solid game but he usually would have pulled a few of those goals back somehow. I think that SCC's goalie is damn good and better than Bliss. It was kind of dirty how they (SCC) kept on stopping play while letting the clock run with equipment checks to get their goalie a shutout. but who cared at that point. Go Marshall. Seaway officials suck

dirty?

Post by puckiNnet19 »

i thought the game was well played and very enjoyable to watch. however it may seem dirty to you that they kept stopping play but if u were in there situation why would u risk someone gettin hurt in the final 2 minutes of the game. mora proved they are undiscipline and cheap and u never know what might happen at the end of a game. look at grabowski and corbett, they are both good hockey players but the whole game they were more worried about hitting ppl and didnt focus on the game. 2 guys that have carried there team all year thrown out for losing there cool. its too bad there last games as seniors had to end like that
