uhhh I'm pretty sure Holy Angels only loses 3 seniors. The Stars return their main nucleus of players so how could you not have them in the top 3, and not even in the top 10..wow

East that high?

Post by INDIANSFOREVER »

Did you know that East lost Fairchild, that is huge. That's like losing 1-2 goals a game.

And Edina #1? I didn't know they were supposed to be that good this season.

Grand Rapids has potential to be a top ten team. They did last season, but the goaltending wasn't there. On the flip side Cloquet has more than you could ask for between the pipes but where will the scoring come from. Sure they have some nice players and Esse will get them playing well, but #11 was a machine.

Edina is in the Classic Lake, and I don't see them even making the state tournament. Jefferson will take that section. I like your rankings with the exception of Hastings. They wont be a top 20 team next year, they lost stewart and will probably have 6 or 7 sophs playing, but look out the year after that.

Holy Angels has to be #1 on anyones list who is serious about these rankings.

EdinaHornets9, I love the pride, but like Hastings Edina is a year off of being a top 5-10 team, but I'd say they'll be in the 8-15 range by the end of the year. Are all of those bantam kids staying at Edina HS? and are most of the kids off last years 'A' team now sophomores?

hornets isn't a big fan of AHA to say the least, but to not even put them in the top ten is a little curious. I think they belong in the top five, but it is too early to give any specifics past that to these pre-season predictions.

i think personally that centennial will be over-rated. watching there team this year and looking at who they have coming back i don't think they have a lot of size. but they do have some forwards that can score but they are pretty small.

Holy Angels

Post by edinahornets9 »

Holy angels is a good team and definately will be in the top 10 to 15. Coming off a state championship though they have already reached the top and that puts pressure on the next year. My top ten is based more of the Bantam A and Junior Gold A rankings from this past year.

Hornets - AHA

Post by MNPuckster27 »

You mean like how the Stars won a state title in 2002 then lost the likes of Hagemo Howells and Kronick and still came back the next year to state to take 3rd place (the year they sat Frazee on the bench to start the Anoka game in the state semi-finals and gave up a quick 2-0 lead before losing 2-1)???

AHA slipping to 10-15th in 2005-2006??? I'm not a huge Stars fan or anything, but come on....

And how often do junior gold players come back and play on varsity teams the following year? Or a group of bantams come up and make a big turn around for a program as sophomores..... Almost never.

What will they lose next season, that isn't expected. I've heard rumors that Bergren may get a chance at the juniors. Any truth to that?

These are some pretty good predictions. Let's see the top twenty, since not all of these teams can make it to The Show, but the next ten might produce some for the trny..

Section 6

Post by Puckguy »

Not sure if this section is strong enough to boast four of the top ten. Edina may be a stretch. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/pimp.gif ALT=":hat">

Have to agree with Puckguy here. Jefferson and EP should be good. Edina is probably a year away, and if Wayzata loses Lucia, Wehrs and Miller, they won't have much left.

Wayzata I believed moved to 4AA, and Benilde stepped in.
-------------------

"75 percent of the world is covered by water. The rest is covered by Smoot." --Fred Smoot

NW Suburbs

Post by MNPuckster27 »

Hey guys from the NW suburbs, any chance Elk River, Osseo, or Anoka will crack the top 10? How much of a favorite is Wayzata to come out of 4AA, if they are at all?

For the sake of stirring the pot a little more, i'll give my first big prediction of the season a little early....

Hill-Murray will win section 3AA, you heard it here first!!!<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... lasses.gif ALT="8)">

gotta agree

Post by hillhockey »

MNPuckster27,

after 3 drought years, 2006 better be a charm for HM in 3AA, so i like your prediction.
But to continue to stir the pot even more, let me bring up yet again SECTION 3AA MUST BE BROKEN UP!!!! HILL, WBL, AND CENTENNIAL DO NOT BELONG IN THE SAME SECTION. It is a crime agains the sport to allow other teams into the tournament when 2 of these are not in it!! And with the rising power of Stillwater and the threat of Roseville, it is a possibility all 3 may not get in one of these years..and that my friends would be devastating....BREAK IT UP BREAK IT UP (chant like throw it back)
