So 50 votes per method, per person, per day. Wow. Would be wise to organize a voting party of some sort. Kids love to text, I know, I see them buried in their phones all the time. I just chipped in 5 for you guys. I'll send off a few more whne I have some more time. Thanks for the help! The schools...

It's a two headed coin...On one side, any time your kid has a puck on his stick it's most likely a good thing. The jerseys are sweet and dads get to find out what the favorite beer is in other associations. On the other side, these series are usually about coaches kids at center or surrounding thei...

Yes and no. There are certainly more options now for coaches, and many ways to make a living strictly in hockey that weren't available 20 years ago. But HS coaching seems to offer a certain level of stability that some people will always be drawn to. People like Curt Giles and Mike Randolph have ce...

In reality, I don't see too many younger guys getting into HS coaching for the long haul. Many are not going into education, other top candidates are going the junior route if they want to make a career of it. I can't think of a good young coach who is a teacher that has come along recently? I mayb...

Nope.
Who's playing in the NCAA final... ah, two teams from the east. Both beat western teams to get there.
Nope.

Re: U18s mens national roster question

Why isn't there more Minnesotan's on this roster, I just see one backup goalie listed. I'm not sure what the selection process is but I would imagine there was top talent here in MN missed... Can someone explain how USA Hockey works? http://u18mensworlds.usahockey.com/news_article/show/500432?refer...

It should be mentioned that the Select and Super Series programs recognize the academic achievement of these athletes as well. Maybe the pro scouts are not tripping over each other, but these are good programs. I have heard all the sour opinions over the years, calling this checkbook hockey and a w...

Follow up question:

What happens with sections that are no where near each other?

Section 3 AA: Jefferson, STA, Burnsville, Eagan, etc ...
Section 3 A : Litchfiled, Willmar, Luverne, New Ulm, etc ...

Are we talking only men's? Or do these numbers include both men's and women's? I think most people realize that overall football and BB are the main revenue drivers, with regional sports showing some profit. I don't see college hockey going by the wayside or declining, my guess is we will see more ...

HP Question

So in youth hockey they follow districts...

In HS, they go by sections? So section 7 would have D(east), Elk River etc ... ???

If that's the case, that's alot of drive for practice.

Talk about chasing trophies. Edina doesn't win the state tourney. Then they don't win bantam or pee wee. The town is in shambles. But there is hope. Let's send our junior golds to some tourney no one cares about and bring home another trophy to place in our "empty" case! Edina is so full ...

I honestly believe with the year round training all players do now a days current teams would wax former teams. Hockey, more than any other sport, has totally transformed. Players are better every year. 100% agree here ...if you could ACTUALLY put the same teams on the ice, it's turns into more and...

This field looks extremely strong. I think you can make a case for any number of teams winning this year. I could even see GR repeat - they are always a tough beat at State because of their willingness to play physical. If they can stay out of the box, watch out Centennial and the others. I for one...

Moorhead has only lost 1 game all yr? Correct. But have not played NEARLY the schedule of anyone else there. I'd guess more of a Wayzata/Minnetonka record if they played in the city. Loss to Elk River who didn't make the tourney. Beat Jefferson and Maple Grove each once. And Grand Rapids three time...
