I guess the varsity girls and bantam A's seasons are over due to COVID, but the varsity boys are still going.

Re: 7A early prediction

Hibbing beats Virginia 4-3 last night, sweeping the Devils for the season, so I gotta think that gets the Bluejackets the #3 seed. Even though it's a coaches' vote, the UpNorth Hockey guys were saying the 7A seeding almost always ends up following the QRF, apparently. In that case (QRF): 1. Herm (2)...

Re: 7A early prediction

Well, Greenway's win over Eveleth last night makes seeding beyond the top two that much more difficult, and could potentially push Eveleth, who seemed to have the inside track to #3 not that long ago, all the way to #6. The easiest path to #3 belongs to Virginia, who, if they beat Hibbing Thursday n...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

That was true prior to the closure of Duluth Central, but has not been the case for about a decade now. Did not know this. Very interesting. How many years was East eligible to play Class A? Not entirely sure, but it was definitely true in my high school days in the late 00s. Enrollment was about 1...

Re: 7A early prediction

Tough break for Virginia that two top upperclassmen forwards transferred to Eveleth, otherwise the Devils would be right on Denfeld's heels. I guess those two players just couldn't wait for the merger... :D And those two scored both of Eveleth's goals tonight in their 2-2 tie against Virginia. Virg...

Redemption is sweet. The Sandbaggers couldn't even muster half of their average goals per game. Must be nice playing the Eveleths and Virginia's of the world all the time (no offense Eveleth and Virginia). Thanks a lot, GR. This loss just bought Hermantown another decade of "Class A is where w...

Rainer2. Your comment was “they are a collector not a developer.” You are plain wrong. Your hate is apparent as even the most anti Hermantown people will grant the fact they have done plenty of developing in their own. I am not comparing Hibbing. They have developed some very nice players. That’s a...

Those who read my posts may feel I am a Hermantown apologist. I am really not. They should move to AA. I hate kids moving there as they near or are in high school. Re: The Hermantown Thread

So if Hermantown opts up do you feel like they should stay in A? I am not sure that the other city teams that I think you are referencing (Cathedral and Mahtomedi, or really any city team left in A) will be good enough to convince them that they can't win it all. Is there another team in A that is ...

I am just telling you how it is. People don’t see it the way you do. They don’t see it as an A and B tournament like you are trying to make it. The other one that comes to mind is Hermantown can’t even beat teams like Alexandria and Greenway. Do we really think they could win 7AA or a AA championship? Remember just cherry pick a result from the playoffs and ignore everything else. So the point you're trying to make is that Warroad could ha...

I have considered that they may win. I am not referencing Hermantown as I think they should want to move up. But you are always quick to draw the line, on several programs, not just Hermantown. I am just not convinced that the class A tournament will ever get to a point where there aren't blowouts. How do you do that? There is just so much variablilty in class A. Rain what are your thoughts on what Warroad should do? They are going to be absolutely stacked in a couple of years. Their bant...
