I don't think it has a chance to go through and I think the supporters know that. They are trying to draw attention and plant a seed for future change. My hunch is they would eventually like to "concede" the increase in period length and "settle" for only getting increased numbe...

Re: Longer season and periods proposed

http://www.mnhockeyhub.com/news_article/show/876208 If this does go thru I sure hope MN Youth Hockey adjusts times for youth games! Squirts 12 minute periods PeeWee 15 minute periods Bantams 17 minute periods High School 20 minute periods I would like to see the MSHSL allow girls JV teams to play M...

Re: Does MN Hockey ever talk about the B1/B2 thing?

Probably a question for elliott, but if anyone else has insight please share. Just wondering if MN Hockey ever talks about B1/B2 and either: 1) officially recognize two B classes or 2) tell everyone to knock it off, there is only AA,A,B,C. To more specifically answer your questions: 1 - Doubt it wi...

Dang Elliot. Back in the 80's all I can remember is A, B, C. My dad, who handled our scheduling, told me we played AA. In a recent conversation about all the AA, A, B1, B2, C and all the different levels and subdivisions stuff I commented how back in my day all we had was A, B, & C, why do ther...

I see B1 and B2 playing each other all the time at squirt, peewee and bantams. It happens in tournaments, especially "B" tournaments (not specifically designated as a B1 or B2 tournament), and I've also seen scrimmages set up between B1 and B2 teams. According to their handbook, Minnesota ...

Co-op with Gentry, DeLaSalle, Minnehaha and St. Agnes. I think in standings they are listed under Minnehaha.

Re: WHY MOST PEOPLE CAN'T STAND CEC HOCKEY

....why is this? I've been a fan since 2009 of the Lumberjacks. Am I missing something here. I guess I really don't care, but I would like to know the reasons anyway. I did live in Duluth East up in the woodland area from 1997 - 2007. I loved Duluth East Hockey and Mike Randolph. I really wasn't aw...

I'm already not crazy about the 'everyone gets a medal' approach to mites. I'm even less crazy about beginning to apply that line of thinking to the High School State Tournament. Two state champions in hockey is enough. Start adding more and you'll end up with a football structure - we'll have six c...

I think it ended in an 8-2 Elk River win.
Well that sounds more logical. I was going by MN Hockey Hub and also the Elks website which were both showing a 0-0 final when I posted earlier.

Forest Lake belomgs in D10, next to Blaine,Cenn,NBranch, east bethel, and chisago. New Richmond, Hudsen,Highlad,Oakdale no fun for 5pm game with traffic. So driving to Princeton, Mora and Elk River at 5pm will be easier? Also, I didn't realize D2 included Wisconsin associations. They are not listed a...

To answer the original question in this thread: Forest Lake from to D10 JCNSP to D2 Woodbury to D2 Becker/Big Lake to D5 Burnsville to D8 Northfield maybe to D8 And, yes a pipe dream, but build dead associations back up and recreate D1. Where would you suggest Becker/Big Lake use as their home rink...

Tournament Fees - What does your association cover?

Just curious, don't need to provide your association name. Our association used to only cover registration fee, if there was a separate gate fee that was the responsibility of the team. However with the seemingly increased move by most associations to combine registration and gate fees into one regi...

No doubt HT has had a lot of player movement and you just can't help yourself to call that out every opportunity you get, but 5 PW teams is not larger than any 7AA program, ER will likely have 5 this year as well and will have 6 squirt teams. My assumption is Andover will have about the same number...

Hermantown is already so loaded with open-enrollees and transfers at the PeeWee level that they will have 5 teams this year. That's unheard of in this area and more than any program in 7AA even, including all of the huge metro programs. Who are the "huge metro programs" in 7AA? I can only...

Do you mean MSHSL? Once you start 7th Grade repeating a grade doesn't get you an extra year. He would be out of eligibility after his Junior year. Not sure how this would help him from a Hockey standpoint, must be some other reason if true. But he has never played MSHSL as far as I know, so 8th-12t...
