Little Falls played the #1 seed very tough, as did Mankato West against a close behind #2 seed. There is some pretty good hockey being played everywhere!

Young Hero
High school junior ran the in-house squirt program in Albert Lea. He did a fantastic job and the young kids really looked up to him, actually, I am an adult and I look up to him for that!

Here is a little recap of what I saw this weekend. There were no surprises, the D6 teams were awesome to watch. EP and Edina were very good, Burnsville right with them. They play a much faster, stronger game than the other teams were used to. To use some analogies for the 2 state bound teams, EP rem...

West
Nice job West. I think back to walking in All-Seasons quite a few years ago and seeing the West coach out on the ice running the mite practice, and another time walking in for a tournament and seeing him and his wife at a counter putting in time for the youth association. Those things make it all th...

Demon
After some investigating, I figured it out. Demon is putting the hate on 1A because of the whippings his Little Falls bunch has had at the hands of 1A at the State Tourney. Heck, a bantam team from 1A even took home the hardware from his bantam tourney a year ago! You go girl! Just to keep on topic,...

BIAFP, so you think IFalls would put Albert Lea into run time if they were to play? So you haven't really checked out any of these teams.

Boy.I.Am.Frigglin.Pitiful, have you seen any 1a teams this year? There is some very good hockey being played down here. Not sure if you are familiar with any of the rankings, but the 1a schools have collectively shown themselves pretty well.

I feel there is only 1 game that won't be close, Lourdes/LaC, that's what the 1 seed will do for you! The other 3 could go either way if you don't show up to play. West and AL are probably better teams with all things equal, but I think North. and Far. could jump up and bite. NP/RW could end up bein...

Congrats to NU on the 1 seed to regions. Faribault gets the 2 seed with a 4-1 win over NP. New Ulm is a fun team to watch if you like disciplined kids working their butts off. They have shown a great deal of consistency all year and have improved steadily to the end. Both teams will represent D4 wel...

It wasn't dwatcher that wrote about lessons learned, I did. I have "walked the walk" many times over, losing big games and smiling while talking to the winners and winning and smiling while talking to the losing team. If Faribault makes the trip to state, great for those young ladies. It w...

Congrats Faribault, you won. Now move on. Lessons in humility are tough, but good life lessons none the less. It is usually much harder for kids to learn how to lose, but in your case, a lesson can be learned in how to win. I have glanced at this forum many times, and have even had a chuckle at time...

Thought I would throw this in to ponder. Albert Lea just got back from the Paynesville tourney. AL beats Cloquet, Washburn then Como for the trophy. Not a strong field, but still fun to win a championship. Here is my point, District 1 will send 3 teams to regions while District 4 will only send 2. C...

I agree with Eagle, NP and NU will be a great match up. Faribault is the clear favorite to win, but you never know. I think they might have lost to Shattuck #2 the other night? Any info on that one?

If you are calling out the Northern tier of the state you are being foolish. There are plenty of kids up North that play with different teams in the off season, but I would have to guess that travel keeps many from being too organized, although I know there are some. Your last post was absolutely ri...
