Re: BEST POST I HAVE EVER SEEN ON THIS FORUM

this may have been answered before but how can they play AA at youth and A in high school? sounds like it defeats the purpose??? It is a strange phenomenon. Apparently something happens to players from Hermantown between 9th and 10th grade that renders them incapable of playing against AA teams in ...

I dont think the Hawks have ever moved a player up early.....and they have had plenty that could have. I would be shocked if Pat Andrews changes that tradition. I agree - but has a kid ever played Varsity at one school, then back to Bantams at another? And a "down" year is what Hawk faith...

Re: Duluth East- back to 7AA dominance?

With the news of Hain, McLaughlin, and Stejkal all not returning for Rapids, does this mean the East era is back? East is almost returning all of their skaters and were within a ringed post of going to state. Who knows what could have happened there since Rapids won it all. I think this team might ...

Absolutely! Nobody knows more about recruiting than a Hermantown guy. You're living it every day.
So do we make them an honorary private school then? If so they have to be ranked 2nd right behind HF based on their recruiting prowess.

This has already been passed by USAH. It is a new rule. MH voted against it but MH has 4 votes out of about 72. I do not think MH can do anything about it other than kiss USAH goodbye . Elliot, I responded to you in the youth hockey thread about Bantam checking and alluded to this. I like USA Hocke...

Well for a Denfeld guy you sure seem to have a lot of really strong opinions about Cloquet stuff that you either don't know very much about but for some reason feel the need to opine on or are trying to play dumb and push an agenda for some reason. I'm calling shenanigans. My question is all of thi...

Re: Hermantown arena

Is/are there plans for a new arena in Hermantown within the next 5-10 years ? Would the boys ever combine with Proctor like the girls? The girls in A so the boys could stay in A. Just curious...... I think a co-op between Denfeld and Proctor is way more likely and would be a good thing if you look ...

At this point, all I think we can confirm is that Langenbrunner is out; Esse has not officially resigned or been driven out. At this point. From the start, I was skeptical that Langenbrunner and Esse would stay on rosy terms through Langenbrunner's time as a Cloquet parent--though it has sure blown...

I guess I'm a bit skeptical. It's hard for me to see something that makes transferring for athletics easier as a positive thing. You guys are discussing one scenario. There are many other scenarios out there where this isn't a positive for the sport of hockey. I'd like to hear those other scenarios...

Re: Proposed new MSHL transfer rule

Has anyone heard of the proposed new MSHL rule that would allow students to transfer to a new school (receiver) if the current school (sender) signs off on the transfer much like what happens in the NCAA transfers. The student would be eligible to play varsity sports without sitting out a year. I h...

Re: Hermantown Offically Moving Up to AA

Me and another forum member saw the papers. Contacted board member to confirm. Athletic director caved to public pressure. Will be joining 7AA with East and Rapids. Hockey universe rejoices! If that is true then hockey up north just got way more interesting. Can't wait for those Hermantown Duluth E...

It is interesting that we are not discussing whether the school board - school employees or the parents and community should decide if Hermantown should be A or AA. While the rest of us have discussed it and someone (presumably not a Hermantown person) has even started a petition. Bottom line is it...

Then why don't they collectively coach the team, be the athletic director, and teach math? They don't because it isn't their job, and there are people in place whose job it is to make these decisions. Are you serious with these comments? If people in a school are doing things that aren't in the bes...

Why should parents have any say in how a high school athletic department is run? No reason. It is not like it is their tax money paying the way and their kids in the program.
