Re: The Hermantown Thread
The point that hit home for me, from a few days ago, was that Htown hosts summer skates etc for potential recruits. That clearly crosses a line, if true. It is one thing if people just want to come to your program. Quite another if you actively recruit.

Re: Jackson Blake
Cigar. Please. No rules? You want to play, sure pick your school each year. The Blakes should know the rules before transferring around. They probably assumed they could skirt the rules (for good reason) but it didn’t work this time. As for him playing in the U at his size, not a chance.

Re: The Hermantown Thread
I gotta believe there would be 5-6 A teams with no shot of a state title in most years. Travel would be onerous with blind draws for Section tourneys.

Re: The Hermantown Thread
People got tired of the Patriots winning all the time, Alabama football, almost any team that consistently wins will have haters. If Hermantown goes up, the same whiners will move on to Cathedral or whoever else takes over the top spot. After all, this is Minnesota HS hockey and transfers abound. So...

Re: Final Cuts
Totally agree with the last guy. A ‘bubble’ player can’t really complain too much if he gets cut. It is like complaining about losing on a bad call by a ref, don’t leave it up to the ref. Very hard to take the long view when it hits close to home though.

Re: New Body Contact Rules
I think they are looking far long term, considering CTE, concussions etc. A lot of people think football will not exist in 50 years. If they can avoid that spiral and preserve the game for another lifetime... But, boy it will be painful in the near term. Most of those ‘unacceptable’ hits looked perf...

STA 3-2. What a great game it was with East. Both teams skated and moved the puck great.

Re: The Hermantown Thread
If the court of public opinion says that Hermantown needs to move up because of incoming transfers, then every team that accepts transfers should move up. Otherwise you are just penalizing success.

So, the thought process seems to be that if an A sized school builds up their program to be successful against programs their size, their reward is that they need to jump a class and start over again at the bottom? Doesn’t make sense to me. A school of 1000 students trying to compete against the big...

Show the passion during the game. Kids who do that have gotten away with tantrums all their life.

Doesn't Mr Gotz drive back up to Hibbing for work? Who cares where he works? I find it odd that nobody really knows who these phantom open enrollees are.. Duluth area hockey community isn’t that big. A or AA? What if the state set the rule that if your team has 3 or more open enrollees, you are aut...
