chill
I am not comparing anyone as to who is better, I just brought up James W. as a Freshman playing Varsity. Both have proven throughout their very short careers in hockey to be good players. Sec. 1A has a few of these boys playing and all are good players. You seem to think point totals are the only ba...

Based on scores alone, West would be a good favorite right now. The NP game was a good win, the others against lesser comp. There are going to be some real nice 1st line match-ups this year, depth will play a big role in how far a team goes. There are different philosophies on playing top players wh...

If seeing an NHL'er watching an alumni game from the glass makes one sad, stay away from "World News Tonight".

tier 1
I don't mean to speak for Chuck, but I don't think these ratings are for tier 1. These are Mn association teams, Shattuck and the Fire are tier 1 teams. Yes, both teams would be very deserving of a top spot, but I think that is more of a credit to Mn hockey then the other way around.

Kind of interesting; Faribault beats the Roch. #1 team then turns around and ties the # 2 team. Maybe things aren't always as they seem?

MW/NP
From the looks of the box score, MW's 1st line scored 6 of the 7. They are going to be tough to corral and if NP was matching up, that would be 2 freshmen out there. The other thing to remember about West is that when Brug. the goalie is hot, he is very tough to score on.

This is in referance to an article in last weeks LPH about Wally losing a PRIME ice time to a youth organization. I would have to agree 100% w/ Elliot and go on to say that LPH should never have printed such stupidity.

composites
CNT, beg to differ. The physiology of the composite blade has a trampoline effect when absorbing pressure. Wood has the same properties but with much less umph. My opinion is that only players with very good hands should be using composite blades.

Shattuck on the brain!
You are wrong, Shattuck tier 1 bantams are very good, as are the Mn teams they have played. The response I have got out of some Shattuck people after some of these games is, "wow, that team is good!" Not once do I hear that they are better. It will be interesting to see how they fare again...

Shattuck
With a record of 15-5-1, you need to explain yourself. Shattuck has defeated 3 of the 5 teams they lost to, they just haven't played DE or Thunder Bay twice. Please explain yourself better.

First analysis of the year. Big early season matchup of the year Thurs. night, West and New Prague. I will be interested in seeing how both teams top ends play against eachother. Cory L. looked pretty feisty this past weekend and I know Lapic enjoys the physical side. My vote goes for NP by 3.

Mn
It should be nice to use Shattuck as a measuring stick to see how the Mn teams would fare against tier 1 teams from throughout the country. Those might be some great games to catch if someone was looking for good hockey.

DD's
The one side you are forgetting is that perhaps the DD involved told the teams in his district that, thinking the Fire was in violation of USA Hockey rules, which in turn, teams playing them might be in violation also, in other words, just looking out for his districts teams? I hope people aren't ar...

The 1A rep at state in 3 of the last 4 years (AL), has a cumulative record of 4-5, not bad. I also remember last year's Sec. 1A tourney when one of this years 1A teams played both Marshall and NU, perhaps someone could enlighten us on the scores of those games? For what it's worth, NU should be the ...

Agree with HOF'r assessment of Fire. Saw the '93 Fire play last year, VERY mediocre bantam team as Mn bantam's go. Perhaps they have recruited well enough to improve, HOWEVER, I know 2 of last year's better players aren't with them, 1 is with H.A., the other with Matohmedi. Granted, these were for t...

fire
If I am not mistaken, the Fire has to have a certain % of rostered players from the state they are registered in. I don't think they can absorb too many. Boy, those parents are really going to show Mn Hockey what a mistake they made not letting them change districts THIS year! This isn't how we shou...
