Re: Checking in bantams
Should moved down to Squirt level, but needs to start as body contact and taught properly, we make this an "event" to get to bantams to check or get checked. Emphasis also needs to be on taking a hit and all the do's and don'ts. It needs to be a part of the game from a young age and taught...

Re: 2019 HP U17 or U16 Boys Rosters?
Why so surprised? I guess you can't comprehend your own writing... "They have to take a couple A kids" "North Branch guy is the coach" "But not saying" If you're not saying it... why say it? Idiotic!!! Come watch a game... Go back to bed... did you also not see this pa...

Re: 2019 HP U17 or U16 Boys Rosters?
Wow... What was the idiotic part? Not a knock on NB, but a dose of reality on the process... No need to get the panties bunched.. having seen and been part if the process, it's true. It happens in each district/ section every year... Kids make it that are a surprise and others get missed... Some do...

Remember how these are picked too... The NB coach is one of the coaches for 5AA team... Not saying kids aren't deserving, but always will be smaller schools represented, can't have the HP tryout money dry up if kids don't have hope of making it..

Re: NDTP Invites MN edition
Surprised Kukkonen is not listed. He's a heck of a player. I don't really understand the interest in Nelson, saw him play a bad Centennial team this year and was very underwhelmed. Actually I had no idea he was committed to Notre Dame until afterwards, and was shocked that was the skill to be verba...

Re: Biondi gone?
[/quote] I think sometimes there is more to it than just development. I think there is more evidence now than ever before that there is no right way to do it. Kids with enough talent will develop fine if they stay. You only get to be in high school once. For some of these kids, giving that up matter...

Re: Seldom noticed and under rated
Some I've seen: Burnsville: Grant Ahcan, Junior, crafty hard nosed player, small stature but obvious hockey sense and scoring ability Prior Lake: Matt Beaty, Sophmore, guy you like on your team but hate to play against. Always around puck and nipping at your heels. South St. Paul: Owen Ramirez, Jun...

Seldom noticed and under rated
Question, who have you seen this year that is under rated and not getting the accolades, but are really quality players? We see all the top teams guys and guys who look better around the top talent, but what about the guys in struggling or down programs? We can all look at points, but that's not alw...

Re: Thoughts on 5AA
Agreed: My thoughts.. MG is team to beat, very good depth up front, soph class (and Janike) are good additions to scoring and puck control. D might be suspect after this year, but goaltender pretty solid for next couple. Scoring is lead by underclassmen 5 in top 10 for the team and leader is freshma...

Thoughts on 5AA
Obvious Maple Grove/Blaine love, but anyone else deserving love?!? Some close games some not, CP over DE, Totino over CP, Centennial close games with Blaine, MG, DE, Andover, but losses to AC... I know some of the things I see, but am way more curious what you guys see... because as my wife tells me...

Re: Game(s) Monday - Tuesday 12/17
Deast wins 3-2 DE very good team. No doubt. Surprised they don't rack up more points. Fast and physical. They are a large team overall. Must be nice to be able to have a HSE player on 3rd line, speaks to their depth. Shots were 2-1 DE favor. Probably more impressed Centennial hung in as close as th...

Re: Any Centennial Curmudgeons on here? (Lucas McGregor)
Talk has been a lot of de-commits 10+ on the Gopher side, Motzko and the staff won't announce a verbal de-commit (heck they don't announce "formally" a verbal commit). Off ice issues caught a few, to many small skill guys no grit, some that he never had an interest in at SCSU so why would ...
