Re: YHH HS Hockey Podcast, 12/31/18 feat. Jack Jensen
Blake may be the trendy pick, but they are looking at the 4/5 seed in their section and would have to beat 3 quality teams to advance to state. I agree with that, they are good and very good compared to year's past but they have to go through some combination BSM, Cretin, Wayzata, & Edina. To b...

Re: YHH Podcast for 12/16/18 feat. Trevor Kukkonen
Thanks for the podcast. Regarding Tonka's offense, I heard that the coaches are still trying to find the right mix of players to fulfill each role (including sandpaper guys) and will be experimenting with lineups to get the offense to where they'd like it to be. Yes, although they have very good fo...

Well done boys! LOL Tony to Danny “ you are going to too many games - get a girlfriend !” Just hearing about Danny's game-viewing schedule drains me. That said, I also have a life outside of hockey, so that might be a part of it.  So to be clear for everyone I go to a lot of games becau...

Re: YHH HS Hockey Podcast, 11/26/18
A bit surprised about the lack of positive feedback for Tonka outside of saying they deserve to hold onto the #1 spot. Yes perhaps the win against STA is not that shiny given the roster shortcomings STA had, but they also beat LVN (who shouldn't be taken lightly) 4-0 with a disparity in SOG of 44-1...

Re: YHH HS Hockey Podcast, 11/26/18
It was another excellent show! The only thing I’ll take issue about (with Danny) is his assessment of the STA-TONKA game. While granted, McFadden & a couple other STA players couldn’t play due to Football 🏈 committments last week...but to characterize the 4-1 loss by STA as “closer than the sco...

Re: YHH Preseason Podcast 2018-2019
To comment on Danny's point about this Edina team having the least amount of offensive depth since the 2011-2012 team... I think you can make that argument and it is somewhat true. If you look at that team they had two 40 point scorers, one was a sophomore and one was a freshman but after that you ...

Re: YHH Preseason Podcast 2018-2019
Nice first show. Amazing how much research you must do in advance and also crib notes, since you all have great grasp of all the details for all the teams for the preseason show. As always, would encourage Karl to butt in/speak up more, although difficult when not in studio. Danny does a good job a...

During the discussion about players transferring multiple times, I thought for sure that Troy Riddle was going to be mentioned. I believe he played two years for Edison, one for Minnehaha Academy, and finished up with two at BSM. Riddle was certainly no slouch as a player, but he accumulated some h...

Tourney Itinerary
So Karl and I have put together our first three days’ worth of our itinerary for this year’s tournament. We list where we will be and where we will be going at all times. As huge hockey nerds we obviously had to schedule it out so we hit all the attractions. We also put in our explanations on why we...

I don't think I have been to a 3-6 or 2-7 either mainly because it takes a lot of dedication to one team to see them play a 7 or a 6 seed because those games have a high likelihood of running time. What game are U attending tonight? Think I’m going to EP vs Chaska (haven’t yet seen Chaska play this...

Great show this week guys! Love the topic of best uniforms in the state. One little correction for Danny Sammy Walker was not on a State Champion team. He played in the tournament 3 years ago as a freshman but Lakeville North won it that year going undefeated in 2015. Yea Tony reminded me of that l...

come by as a true love. Yeah - I tilted my head like a newborn beagle then lowered it in a state of speechlessness (rare for me) when I heard MV went to the team trainer/team doc for a 'slip and noggin bump' - on the car door? A-pillar of car door frame? Huh? Wha? - this from not one source, but th...

Consider that the 2010 Minnetonka team was so deep and talented that then sophomore Steve Johnson, current gopher senior, did not show up rostered on the State tournament team , which went on to that great multi OT semi final game against , guess who , Hill Murray. One of the all time thrillers. Ye...

Great show , the dynasty segment triggered a lot of memories going all the way back to the 60s Hill Murray is almost a past and continuing “dynasty” with its own unique definition. Minnetonka from the mid-late 2000’s and into early 2010’s would be a great candidate for dynasties that could have been. The number of future D1 and NHLers is crazy. Got close to a title in 2010. What happed to the 2008 team though? Jake Gardiner, Max Gardiner, Holl, Raiola, Coatta, Prochno? I supp...

Great podcast again this week. One class A goalie you missed in your mentions is Jack Cusey out of Mankato East. Sporting a 1.73 GAA and a .933 SV% along with a 7-8-2 record. I did miss him because those are some good numbers. When I was going through goalie stats for the Frank Brimsek award I also...
