Goalie from virginia?? Who?? It was a skater from Virginia. He was not listed on their roster but "in uniform," (The Toppers were actually wearing practice jerseys), but was wearing blue breezers. I was told he's participating in Marshall's summer program, and therefore playing in the scr...

In case anyone would like to hear some actual attempt at reporting, rather than made-up tom foolery... I talked to Trent yesterday afternoon. I simply said - are you returning as head coach at Grand Rapids? His response... "No." I'm not saying he couldn't return. Who the heck knows. But t...

I have to say, I agree whole-heartedly that Hermantown should be in AA. However, Bruce Plante is a tremendous coach and an even better guy. We'd all hope to have our kids play for a guy like him, in terms of his ability to teach the game, get the most out of his players, and in terms of having him m...

Regarding the Rapids player on the ice: Something similar occurred when Benilde won in 2012. A player who had been ejected from the title game for spearing wasn't allowed on the ice afterward. Neither was Jablonski, who wasn't on the tournament roster. Here's the link to the forum discussion of the ...

I just don't think it should be the Sections place to decide to levy access fees of any kind. That should be the schools perogative. Well, the section is run by the school ADs so the schools and the sections are basically the same. And as someone else stated, the revenue generated helps support sec...

I'm sure MN Hockey is probably their next step. I think it made sense to start with DAHA though, even though it was a risk. It almost worked. They actually approved it on the first vote until rescinding it two weeks later. With DAHA approval MN Hockey would have put it through I'm sure. Then it's d...

What no one has mentioned is that East was also without a top forward for two periods: Ryan Peterson didn't play in the second or third. I always get a kick out of how people throw around the term, "Iron Range." You always hear Rapids being described as an Iron Range team, even though they aren't on the Iron Range. Cloquet and Duluth are obviously nowhere near the Iron Range. At least they didn't call it the Iron Ridge lik...
