Re: Section 4AA thread
Every team has some of their best players move on to other programs. We didn't have Joey or Mikey Anderson very long. True. But I try to often point out we are one of the few programs that doesn't discriminate based on geography. We accept all kids no matter what youth system they grew up in... Ros...

Re: State Tournament Times
Because the High School League wants to run two sessions to get some extra money into the coffers by selling two sets of tickets. Starting the second session at 6 gives them time to clear the arena. Even starting the second game at 2:00, baring overtimes, they should be done 4 or 4:30ish, giving th...

Re: Question
I've never like the idea. "A" schools have a much weaker road through the sections and state than "AA". There's also a bias because there are people here who just want the small or northern school to get into a final without having to go through the normal channels of AA grind. ...

Re: 3 Privates & EP walk into a pub
I guess for me, it's more that I just don't care who wins now, which makes me lose interest. Does it allow me to be more objective? Sure, but where is the fun in that? Having some vested interest just inherently makes sports more interesting to watch. And it's not that I have anything against the ki...

Jim Erickson is legit though, I'm glad they bring him in for this. Does his research and speaks on the players as a very educated play by play guy.

Re: Section 4AA thread
Interesting if you look at the mid 90s runs of the WBL teams, which all had a rose, roed and gallatin on them.
I believe Randy is the dad of Owen. And I know roed is the son of Pete. Is Billy the son of Jeff rose?

Re: Section 4AA thread
Well, When you have the ability to re-tool every year by offering a grand church experience and also a hockey team it certainly helps. Public schools will have good teams from time to time and certainly goes in cycles. WBL seems to have good teams a little more often but are always a couple players...

Re: Section 4AA Final
As for #9 on wbl, I'm not sure what type of tier 1 jr A options he has but if they are there, leaving may not be a terrible choice. The bears team for 2020-2021 will be thin on talent, and more 4 or 5 seed likely in 4AA. He is a good player, didnt have the year many expected. Wish the best whatever...

I'd love to go, but can't.

Re: Might be an ugly season...
Lets see....Gophers Notre Dame game last March Mr. Goldy? Great call on Sheehy then I assume? or a "dumbass" call.... I think his point is fair though. We sit here complaining about officiating, but the MSHSL can barely get enough refs out to do games. You can't expect someone to want to ...

Re: Coaching changes 2019/2020
I'm not sure what point you are trying to make with that? or are you just trying to make my point? My point is none of those girls got better at hockey when they reached the High school level and yes those girls were good when they were younger. My other point in all of this is we need to stop sayi...

Re: White Bear Lake, Moorhead, South Saint Paul
Bears should be good next year. The year after that however might be a drop. Will still have good players but there's no way the Roed kid plays his Senior season in HS. He'll be Ripe for the USHL picken's. Hard to believe Stillwater will be that much better next year? I wouldn't be 100% on the Roed...

Re: Biondi gone?
Isn't Biondi a first round pick of Sioux City? Has he played there at all this spring? Hard to imagine he wouldn't be playing with them or NTDP right now. I don't see how another year at Hermantown helps him in any way developmentally versus moving on. IMO, he would greatly benefit playing at the n...

Re: White Bear Lake, Moorhead, South Saint Paul
Is this NTDP WBL kid have a chance at playing for WBL HS? Roed, Hofeld, Rose, Newpower should be a solid core. Really would be a state champ contender if Berg went the HS route. If you are referring to Gallatin, he left last year. If you are referring to Jake Martin, I don't know if he ever played ...

Re: White Bear Lake, Moorhead, South Saint Paul
2001, 2003 and 2005 WBL all had great teams. In 2005, they probably had the best team in the tournament. fell to DE in an upset. For the WBL posters out there, is next year the last real chance WBL has to make the tournament for a while? Hard to tell. The youth teams are definitely not as strong as...

Re: White Bear Lake, Moorhead, South Saint Paul
White Bear will have a team capable of getting past the quarterfinals at state next year. The only question is will they actually do it. Not sure how good some of their teams have been throughout history that have made it and lost right away but they will be very good next year. It won’t be easy fo...

I would guess someone will try to keep this going in some fashion. Maybe Ch. 45, maybe someone else. Maybe multiple folks. In fact, it's already started. Thursday, NHL.com posted this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ihtoEpbhIs I will miss his subtle nicknames to the hairstyles and his dry delivery.

Re: 2019 Minnesota State High School All Hockey Hair Team
Why would they stop doing this? Jon King, who makes the videos has his last child graduating from WBL this year. He said this morning on KFAN since his son is graduating he felt his connection to the hockey community wouldn't be as strong and didn't feel right doing it after this. He said it would ...

I lived in the Cities for 30+ years so I do have some understanding of the Cities. I am not saying the City hockey fans are any less passionate but I am saying that depth of that passion is different. I was in a community that went to State (White Bear Lake and Hill-Murray) and it is different. If ...
