Double A sized pool? You have Duluth East, Marshall and Hermantown all within 5 miles of each other. I don't think there numbers quite add up to metro numbers.

When I brought up phantom Phil Hoene I also should have mentioned 3 goals in 27 seconds against Duluth East a mn high school record.

tough call probably going to be physical game- I hope the refs let them play and don't decide game. East had goal disallowed in 3rd period in first meeting -looked like questionable call.

It was a good tournament with Edina showing more balance and depth then anyone but as usual the top teams were pretty close. I was actualy suprised Hermantown was in a position to win the game with STA.

I will always remember Hermantown getting cheated out a championship. And the hollow cheers of a dimwitted metro hockey crowd. Do I Sound negative, Its because I am.

I started this thread on actual calls made in state tournament games. I would like to ask the metro crew to name me some games were metro teams lost games "In the state tournament" to a northern team on a bad or decisive call.

I did not refer to number of calls, I meant bad calls non calls and game deciding calls.

Is it just me, or do the bad calls or no calls seem to go against northern teams always? Hermantown this year Duluths east goal in overtime vs apple valley which no one seemed to see but was posted in the net in the duluth paper. Direct tv sucks I am watching on internet in detroit lakes because for the 2nd year in a row direct tv has no coverage. However I do have the wisconsin tournament like I give a dam. Next year back to cable, thank god for prep 45.

To there credit STA gave there 4th line a lot of ice time in the 3rd period there going double a next year. Short of pulling 9th graders out of the stands, what could they do. Just the same-I pray for a upset .

I dont know of any good reason for anyone to bad mouth hermantown. Other then being jealous over there hockey program.

Mike Randolph needs to have his team better prepared then they were last year against Lakeville South. Sometimes it can be a curse to have beaten a team handily in the regular season.
