To a point. But people said the same thing Benik and now he's really good for St. Cloud State. Putting up big numbers against weak opponents doesn't mean your talent is fake.

What has happened to Roseau? Its just kind of a down year them. Not a whole lot of speed. Losing Helgeson definitely hurt. They're small enough town that losing even one good player is going to hurt a lot. Plus they started the year with their best D man hurt. There are going to be ebbs and flows w...

Ok I will bite! Watch the fireworks! Well here goes. Wat makes you think st cloud is or every will really be relevant in high school hockey? Sure they compete in their sections every now and then (remember when Hermantown was in sect 5). Sorry st cloud can combine all their schools and not really m...

Re: HM - Bemidji

Road teams are 8-6 in the HM - Moorhead series over the past 14 years. HM has won their last 5 games in Moorhead. I don't think the long bus ride hurts. Likely makes some difference. Riding on I-94 is a lot easier than taking the goat paths up to Bemidji. Would you give northern MN some credit? We ...

When I was home over the holidays I watched 3 Roseau games. None of them were against particularly good opponents but Roseau's top two lines are pretty creative offensively. They don't have a lot of team speed though and a team that's either quick or moves the puck real well shouldn't have a problem...

That writer is a hack, Gophers have won more games than any program in the country over past 4 years. Article should be on Big Ten hockey not Gopher hockey. Give it time and Big Ten will be top conference. Its all about money and they have it. You mean its about influence to change the rules to the...

Revenge is sweeeeeeet ! Yes, it will be....... come sections. Elliott, what's going on late in games? This Bemidji squad has made a living on being so good in the 3rd period and now they lost this one, blew a 2 goal lead to Cloquet, and ended up tying EGF after they gave up a real late goal. One is...

Re: Cade Gleekel

I see that BSM's Cade Gleekel scored a hat trick this evening against Bloomington Jefferson in their 6-3 win, and also note that he is Benilde's leading scorer with 38 points on the season. Yet according to the Hub he is not listed as "committed" to any D1 program, and just wondering why?...

I agree, however I don't think it has to do with him playing single A, as he is one of if not the best dmen in HS hockey in MN this year. I think the central scouting "snub" if you want to call it that has more to do with his size than anything, which is dumb. Look at how well the Ahcan k...

I wouldn't put too much stock into this list. If he is good enough, eventually it will work out. I'm sure it will but it still makes no sense. By all accounts he showed what he could do in the Elite league but he still gets no respect. It has to be because he plays Single A. Makes you wonder if a k...

But no titles.... which is kind of my point. It's not quite so easy... especially in a "one and done" tournament in which a hot goalie can steal a game against a superior opponent. Yes, it is the ultimate goal but it isn't like these teams go through Best of 5 or Best of 7 series to get t...

When you're 25 years old it's past time to move on and get your life underway. You should no longer be an undergrad in college going to school with 18 year olds. If you're still living the dream of making it in the NHL you should be living it in the minor leagues, which would be better preparation ...

Duluth Marshall @ Roseau

Back north for Christmas I decided to catch this game today. Roseau is up 3-0 with 5 minutes left in the 2nd. I'm really surprised.actually. I thought with Roseau being down a little this year and Duluth Marshall beating East this year it would be different. Rams are getting outshot 18-13 but the ga...

Its a good rule of you're a B10 team who can't compete with schools from other conferences....You have to be blind to see this as anything other than big school with big name cache trying to slant the ice even more in their favor. On the one hand you say the B1G schools "can't compete" bu...

If you can't beat 'em, change the rules and cite it as a safety issue. This has been a problem in college hockey for 40 years. Many of you are too young to remember, but there was a time Denver and the Gophers often shared the WCHA title but didn't play each other because of fighting about age of p...

As stated in a few articles, I think this is obviously a ploy by the Big Ten to tilt the field in their favor. They haven't seen success against other conferences all that much besides the WCHA. None of the B10 schools said anything about these rules before the creation of the conference. Change the...

Re: AA Top 15

$5 isn't much at all. Maybe Bemidji should schedule Edina, Breck, Minnetonka, St. Thomas Academy, Stillwater twice, Lakeville North, Wayzata, Prior Lake and Grand Rapids and I'd give them more respect. Oh well they do play grand rapids, hermantown and hill murray but that is all i see. Glad your Ed...

Hermantown defenseman Wyatt Aamodt has 4 points in 3 games against quality teams. He had 32 points last year so those numbers will likely improve. I see him being a finalist but I cant remember the last time a defenseman won this award. 2009 Nick Leddy? 6 years is a long time.... The award has a hi...
