AlCloseShaver, as long as you started the thread..... Anyone been following Tufte at UMD who could offer thoughts on his lack of production so far? Nagging injury from early in the season? He has been on the 3rd line with guys that aren't super skilled, so that has been a factor. He just looks slow...

Yeah, either Hibbing or Greenway could be #2 right now. Hibbing did significantly better vs New Ulm and slightly better vs Virginia, but I don't think I'd hold the Rosemount tie against the Raiders. Hibbing also blew a lead vs Alex. Hibbing was up 4-3 in the third and went on the pp, and it felt lik...

Here are the latest 7A rankings. Overall record and 7A record are given for each team. 1. Hermantown- 8-1-1 (0-0) The Hawks had a great holiday week, as they beat Bemidji 4-0, Delano 4-3, and Duluth Marshall 3-1. By beating the #1 team in A Delano (while outshooting them almost 3:1), Hermantown will...

I just got done watching Hermantown's JV squad literally dominate CEC 7-0. I've seen Hibbing and Virginia and Hermantown varsity. I honestly think Hermantown JV would be favored in 7A if they played varsity. So impressive that program is there in Hermantown. WOW!!! I'll be sure to put Hermantown's ...

According to the Hub, New Ulm beats Virginia 3-0, but got outshot 64-30!

Can anyone confirm that Raymond stopped 64 shots today? If so, that's insane.

Curiosity question for those that know it well......if Hermantown does move up to AA......using youth hockey results or whatever other info and history available.......what year coming up lines up as their best chance for their first trip to the AA tourney? I just got done watching Hermantown's JV ...

Alex wins 5-4 in OT. Some controversy on winning goal, as I was close the net and it never appeared to go in. Wish I could see a replay.

Anyhoo, Alex's top line is fun to watch. Congrats to their team on the northern sweep!

3-2 Alex after 2, shots 20-17 Hibbing.

Alex wins that period. Their top line and pp are very good.

Alex leads Hibbing 1-0 after one. Shots 14-4 Hibbing.

Hibbing has controlled play for the most part, but Alex's freshman goalie has been solid.

Re: Class A: #1 Delano vs. #2 Hermantown

Who will win this matchup in the semifinals of the Duluth Marshall Tournament? Whoever does, this should be a good game and hopefully settle the debate on who the best team in Class A is so far this season. Does anyone know if the game is being broadcasted on the radio or live streamed? 92.1 The Fa...

Hibbing is a top ten team in A. Yes, they are not in the upper tier with Hermantown, Delano, Breck, SPA, etc. but to say they aren't that good on a 3A thread is strange. I didn't think it was necessary to pile on about Hibbing's 4-0 win over New Ulm, but to set the record straight, Hibbing outshot ...

How are the holiday tournament going for all the 3A teams? Luverne lost to Woodbury 5-3 on Monday and beat Hastings 4-1 today. They will play Hopkins for the 5th place game tomorrow. New Ulm lost their opener 4-0 up in Hibbing. Gave up 3 PP goals though so that would show they maybe played Hibbing ...

Greenway is not a top 10 team without him. The kid could put the puck in the net. They sure could have used him last night. Lot of scoring opportunities but couldn't finish. Alex never gave up and dominated the OT. It is a significant loss for sure, but they have competed well without him against t...

7A It's unlikely that Hermantown will be anything but the favorite now and going into sections. They have yet to play any section opponents, but 6 of their 10 Class A opponents are section opponents; Greenway, Denfeld, Proctor, Virginia and the last two games of the season are on the road against E...

I lost the audio, but Hub says 3-2 CEC after two, shots 29-17 Jacks. This Jacks squad has a TON of young talent, and they seem to be adjusting to the varsity game. What's scary is that Esse still has 2/3 of the season to get these kids ready for a playoff run. Yes, lot of talent in the sophomore cl...

Good analysis / section summary's so far! It surprises me how far Denfeld has fallen. I know they graduated some numbers, but why can't they pull in more kids from the youth levels? Do other teams in the section have this issue? Is it time for a change at the top? I know Denfeld and Proctor suffer ...

Yes, I follow your logic. My thinking is that Hibbing beat Gway by more. Hibbing's only losses at this time are to good AA teams. Gway barely got by Eveleth, Virginia and Denfeld. Head to head Hibbing has the advantage. Other games Hibbing's losses are to quality teams. Greenway has a quality win o...
