I understand the reasons why Hermantown wants to stay A, but really feel it is time to test themselves in the deep end of the pool. They can always go back in a couple years if it doesn't work out.

Obviously the section is way too large geographically with no real cure for that. Sections rigged by the coaches, not sure about that. I guess we will see. I thought the seeding was rigged last year and the coaches knew more than I did. Is Bemidji an opt up to AA? If so, I bet the high school leagu...

But,the seeds aren't based on who has "earned" it.

The strength/success of high school programs and their local associations suggests that are and could be 3 levels of competition. I know I am in the minority, but allow me to make my case> As Elliott points out, the top 20 AA consists of basically the same core of large suburban schools, privates, t...

I prefer the July 1 date for a few reasons: I think it probably provides the most reasonable date to balance the January 1 cutoff for AAA, Tier 1, HP, and other offseason programs. The July date also provides a lot more flexibility for the July-August kids. These kids seem pretty evenly split betwee...

The Eden Hall Warriors have changed their name and logo to the Eden Hall Ducks after their JV team upset the Varsity team in a controlled scrimmage. Was it really an upset? That JV team was comprised of the best hockey players in the country and represented the USA by winning the gold medal in the ...

I'm sure the Metro Privates will always get heat but nobody is ever going to bash a legitimate Class A team for not moving up. East Grand Forks had a great run there but every kid on that roster was from East Grand Forks. So everyone in the State was cheering for them. Now they are in a down cycle ...

Peky, it's posts like that that just give you no credibility. Read the first sentence of my post again, it clearly states that the two players are move-ins, not open enrollees. I can't tell if you are purposely missing the entire point of my argument to redirect attention away from the inescapable ...

District 16 AA Roseau and Bemidji average, unless they have something I have not seen in the last two years. Roseau may have a shot at an upset but otherwise I would give North AA to Moorhead or Brainerd in D15. Grand Rapids. Cloquet, Hermantown or Duluth East. Not sure of the D11 teams as they are...

Inhaler.....I think you need to quit inhaling. Not sure where you are getting your info on EGF but their Bantams ended the year rated 4th in the state in the final LPH rankings and their PeeWees ended the year rated 5th. Considering some of the teams above them are AA in high school and some are me...

I'm curious to hear what Elliot sees in Section 8 next year. Bemidji has some fantastic high end back at all positions but seems to lose a good chunk of depth. Seems like they will be a solid threat to threepeat at the X but will drop off a bit from this year. Moorhead loses most of an experienced ...

It worked, much tougher game on paper for the Jacks. Rogers hung around for a while with your club also but Bemidji blew them out in the third. Should be more of the same vs STMA. Well I hope so, but I will not lose sleep (not till Friday night). It will be a good game. Most of the fans from St Mik...

I think district scheduling could be an issue in some districts. For example, in district 16 there are two Peewee AA teams-- Bemidji and Roseau. In your proposal they would lose district games against rival A programs like East Grand forks, Warroad, and Thief River Falls and travel much farther to f...

I have to go with Bemidji on this one. They return more players to a team that was better than Moorhead last year. Goaltending was their biggest question mark and that seems to have been answered in two solid performances against Apollo and Grand Rapids.

I think GRs talent wins this one on home ice. Bemidji is good and experienced at both F and D, but goaltending is too questionable right now for a team as good as GR.
