The body of work in section play is what should be used to determine section seedings. If 2 teams seem to be in a tie with section games, then look at their body of work and common opponents. Currently there are 145 boys hockey teams in MN. 4 or 5 classes seems like a bit much. Maybe 3 would work? That would mean about 48 teams per class, which means 6 team sections.

Does anyone know if Dodge County in Class A or AA this season? The MSHSL website lists them as Class A while Minnesota Scores has them still in Class AA, where they played last season.

I believe the rule is 3OT max for the third place games: after that, its called a tie and dual third place trophies are awarded
