Re: McLeod, W. Shaver & Matvick To Call Tourney

For as many people who complain about Wally Shaver, man that guy can call a game. Love listening to him. Parrish, on the other hand, he couldn’t talk more about his high school career, the Jaguars and “baby blue”. Close the yearbook, this isn’t about you. Just like last year when it was “our and we...

I like the heavily rumored Richards/Ward /Bell group NHL 3 period season long work ethic, respect the value of work on the boards and in corners, and promote 2 way 200’ forwards. Fresh start message with deep Minnesota connections . Instant respect . Bell helps ensure stable transition and good rec...

So Worth maybe in the top 10 statewide top 20 AA goal scorers since 2000? Season and career .... Seems like a safe guess. He's at 40 this season after the GR game for 87 in his career. With those two, he passed Nick Licari for 3rd on the East list since we have stats (since 90-91). I have (or, rath...

Does anyone go to the Amsoil semis and finals it's a joke there is nobody there unless it's an all northern final , at least play the semis at the high seed because the atmosphere is dead especially when Rapids and cloquet get knocked out. As far as single A those games were amazing played at the i...

Bischoff, Bonner, Holcomb and Peart look to be pretty good players the next few years for the THawks.

It's great to hear Minnetonka is coming back on the schedule. How ever Grand Rapids is still gonna struggle significantly next year I see 9-12 wins if there schedule stays the same. But after That they have good youth coming in they should have 3 good years Of 18-22 wins on the season and have a ve...

Personally, I’ve always respected and admired coach Esse, his staff and teams. Very hard working and well-mannered young men from what I saw when they visited Rapids. I must admit I am getting a little tired of hearing how good the current group of high school players were as peewees and bantams. Ti...

I am sure he is learning that there is a lot more to coaching a high school team than showing up for games and practices. Nice guy but he was given an empty tool box. John Rothstein was asked why leave with what is there. He simply replied what kind of guy would i be if i left Trent with the cupboa...

As good as Blake is, I don't think that moves Rapids past Elk River and Cloquet. It does make them a very dangerous team to have to play come Sections. One of the biggest challenges is having a new head coach again. Klatt did a terrific job of getting things turned around in time for the Sectionals...

Heard same thing from Rapids fans. The top guys are leaving and there isn't a lot in the cupboard. May not be the entire reason Klatt is leaving but I would bet it was a big part of it! I personally spoke to one of the top guys today and he informed me that he hasn't decided yet as to where he will...

I played Hockey from 6-18 years old, so please explain the "grueling" trek from Grand Rapids..... IMO We felt more intensity , more of a build up on a little road trip Not saying they can or will, but if GR plays like they did the last 7 minutes against ER, then DE will lose by a couple goals.'The ...

The second game was close but from an entertainment standpoint it was a bit of a sleeper. I'm sure it didn't feel that way to the Hounds and Jacks fans but the playmaking and skill level was not near what we saw from the first game. Very impressed by ER. Sorry to drag the conversation back to substantive things, but GR faithful, what were the lines in the Andover game? The last number of years for semi-final Sat, the environment at Amsoil has been very stale and boring. Attendance has not been that good either. Accountability and supervision are major issues at all levels of hockey in Rapids. No doubt parents are a big part of the problem but you can also point at the coaches as well. Go hang out at the IRA and watch all the kids running around, getting into things, unsupervised. The place is a glorified d...
