I love your logic...GR3343 1) Anoka beat Andover twice this season (most recently 5-2 just 11 days ago) and GR lost to FL earlier this year...and we have the sterner test...how is that a logical statement? 2) We have an excellent record going 19-6 and beat top teams Centennial and Blaine along the ...

The outlook for Rapids is not good. Past success does not ensure present success. Rapids has not beaten a quality team this year. They also have "bad" losses to Forest Lake and Hibbing. I'm not a big fan of analyzing a game by shots on goal, but being outshot by almost 3 to 1 is not a ver...

Roseau was very impressive. Their forecheck is relentless and they totally smother your breakout in the neutral zone. Ness didn't disappoint and Tyler Landman is one heck of a player and just like the state final last season, he rarely lost a faceoff. Roseau may not have the individual talent that E...

Why is one of these games played in Eveleth? They don't even draw a hundred fans for their own home games. I went to the CCM game there two years ago and aside from parents of players and out of town fans, the place was nearly empty. Move it to where there might be some interest from the local fans,...

Green 8 Orange 0 Ouch. Is that a dig? :) Rapids has played some of their best hockey this season against some of the states better teams, unfortunately no noteworthy wins. It's hard not to pick the Rams on their home ice, but it will be much better game than that. Should be a one or two goal game.

Re: Section 7AA sedings

Anoka has an 18-6 record with 1 game to play (5-1 in 7AA games) - and will finish the regular season with a (better over-all record) than DE. Edge Anoka DE is 17-7-1 (the tie was actually a shoot-out loss to Centennial) and are ( 4-2 in 7AA games). Edge Anoka (East beat Anoka) in December 4-0. Edge...

Attended four games in the metro this season against very good programs. Aside from the 40-50 kids in the student section, the crowds were absolutely pathetic. How can you not draw fans for a rematch from a state tournament game the previous spring? Regardless of who we are playing up in Rapids, it'...

Re: Norcon comment

Youso is by far a better player than anyone on the GR team that is for sure. GR got beat by a better team in the end, the got outplayed. They were luckey the game even went into overtime. It would have been a blowout if the falls would've capitalized on their chances. What game were you at??? Rapid...

OK, that may have been a bit harsh, but I've seen more postings on the board during this hockey season from the PR faithful than those of more successful, well-established programs put together. I'm happy your team is doing well, but please, do...

PR fans. Listen to yourselves.....play the games,if you win that is fine, good for you. Last I checked all teams in the section are practicing, ...

Re: Anoka vs. GR

The anoka goalie played fine,The rapids goalie played outstanding the game could have been alot worse. There some positive for ya  Shots were 35-16 in favor of Grand Rapids. Underwood stopped 13/15. I am not sure that you can make that argument that is could have been a lot worse. GAME FACTS: ...

Re: DIFF

Difference in the game today was a lunch pail team could not beat Anoka's D-1 talent. Other than that boys argue on about who saw what and who outplayed who. Don't matter Anoka burried the biscuit. I didn't see a single player out there for Anoka who stood out that much. Rapids has seen quite a bit...

3-0 Anoka Congratulations on a well played game boys! Aside from a decent looking goalie and power play, Anoka didn't show much else. Rapids outplayed them for most of the game and had a big territorial advantage. I will give credit where credit is due though. The Tornadoes capitalized on their opp...

The shot totals and score don't reflect the considerable territorial advantage Rapids had in this game. As usual, they didn't shoot the puck enough when the opportunities were there, particularily on the power play. I was a bit suprised by the undisciplined play of Cloquet in the later stages of the...

Pucknutz,
Are you serious? The Ponies are one of the weakest teams on Rapids schedule this year. Most hockey fans knew this game didn't pose much of a threat to the orange and black. You shouldn't knock Rapids program when the Ponies have done nothing to speak of forever.
