Rapids power play really struggled in this one. They controlled a good portion of the play when playing five on five. Jefferson's O'Donnell is a nice looking player with very quick feet.

Last nights game was a clear example. WBL was pretty much in control of the game, but all Gorg could talk about is how improved Stillwater was and how good they will be in the future under Housley. Gorg and Laplanta kssed Houlsey's butt all night long. You would think it was a 4 to 1 Stllwater win....

This happened to everyone from rapids who was sitting on the Home side...which was the Rapids side and the Edina side. I can understand why they were jockeying for seats, Edina and EP would have been a great game to stay for, but I had to tell more than one person they could have my seat when the g...

Best fans at the tourney last year, definitely GR. They showed a boat load of class and respect to Roseau. I was very impressed. Other than East, most of the student sections from the north are very well-mannered. They have respectable cheers, they sit down, and they don't try to draw attention awa...

Re: Bad bad music at HS games

Why is it that arenas are playing very bad, very loud "music" during warm-ups and between periods? Let's take the Brainerd vs GR game last night. The music was horrid at best and very annoying to people of all ages that were sitting nearby. Even the high school kids nearby thought it was irritating...

I grew up playing hockey at a school where it graduates less than half what Greenway does and they still put out teams that are respectable each year. Yes it is more difficult to put a winning program together year in and year out when you don't have as many kids competing for spots. I've always hea...

Brainerd has never beaten Rapids but last year they did tie them at Rapids That's like kissing your sister  Was that before or after Patrick White came back from injury? Pat played a little in the first, then a couple PP shifts and two shifts or so in OT. He played, but was very limited. I ov...

If the rapidly declining thunderhawks give up some soft goals and play a sub par defensive game like they did against the Forest Lake juggernaut they will get beat in the snake pit. If it is close in the third you all know what will happen....lots of 5 on 3 hockey for the 'green macheeeeeene' and t...

How do you not take the Greenies in this one, 2 Elite players to none!! Had to be upset wins for Hibbing and Hermantown. [/img] Are you serious? The only reason those kids were on that Elite team is because Guyer was the coach and you can't tell me Roy, Kosak, and Rendle weren't good enough ...

Don't count out Greenway. They played Virginia on the back rink and finished 20 minutes before hitting the ice against EG/ME at the IRC jamboree, but couldn't do to Little Falls what Virginia did. As for Grand Rapids, they had the benefit of injuries to Grivette and Buccanero. This game is in Coler...

What are you expecting to happen to keep the Pioneers from reloading year after year? Hill-Murray is in the State Tournament almost every year since first becoming eligible in 1975... much more than any other team in Minnesota. For some reason, 2008 looks like a Championship year for Hill. Is it be...

Hopefully some of the super sophs. Don't expect to see much out of the so-called super sophs. Lots of seniors and a handfull of nice juniors to compete with for playing time. That is one opinion and hope that you are not a team mate of his. His coach from 2 years ago had the young man dialed in and enforced misbehavior. Kids like that are relatively easy to coach and very nice to have on a hockey team you just have to know how to handle them and lay out the rules in bla...

Zack was a standout as a peewee. This past season you didn't even notice him on the ice. He gets frustrated very easily which leads to very passive play.
