Re: The Hermantown Thread

Would it be better if those guys went to Duluth East or Grand Rapids? I am not a fan of players transfering, I am also not a fan of forcing the Hawks out of your league because you cannot beat them. I, as an Otter fan hate that a certain player went to Moorhead a couple years ago, FF wouldve been g...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

I did a couple times but here goes again: if I was a Hawks fan, they should have done it 5 years ago. As a class A fan, stay as long as they want because it has made class A hockey that much better leading to the recent point which is obviously so confusing. I don't care how long they stay. My team...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

For your argument you picked East and Greenway. Why greenway and East of all teams. The reality would be SCC or Warroad. The matchup of one of those CE Mahtomedi would be just as awesome. SCC looking for a second c-chip. Warroad always brings a great crowd. And if Hermantown would move up SF Friday...

"defense", regarding transfers; I'm not saying current East players would transfer to Marshall or any other school as I have no information about that. However, I am aware that a number of parents of current Pee Wee and Bantam players are certainly keeping their options open about where their sons ...

Re: Coaching Changes - 2020-21

Add two range schools...Virginia and Hibbing Virginia is going to co op with Eveleth, do they need to fill position? I believe the co-op starts 21-22 season, so they will need a coach for this upcoming year. I had heard the Hibbing coach resigned, but didn't want to post a rumor. Hopefully the AD m...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

Mahtomedi also beat Hill Murray this year so definitely a year of parity... Orono only lost 5-2 to Tonka when they won 2 years ago... STA beat AA champ Edina 2-1 in 2013... True, but that's three different teams over several years. We're talking about one team, one that routinely beats the AA champ...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

Hill Murray is the only private on that list. Point is Herman(Ely,Virginia, Denfeld,Proctor, Hayward)town beat the class AA champ this year and in 2017. Only lost by couple to minnetonka. Eight straight c-chip games 10 out of 13 state c-chip games in last 13. What’s left to prove? Can't believe I m...

Re: 7A - Thoughts

Would CEC even be in 7A for sure? There are already ten teams, and we've seen Hermantown, Proctor, and Duluth Marshall all go to 5A previously, and CEC is further south than all of them.

Maybe CEC and DM both go to 5A, if they go down to A after next season.

Re: The Hermantown Thread

I’m also sticking with this statement Also had a thought. Do you think a coach who takes over a hockey program like Hermantown really has any say in anything todo with the program. I had a conspiracy theory Do you think everyone involved with Hermantown hockey really wants to stay in class A? They ...

Re: Mahtomedi vs Hermantown

Congrats to mahtomedi and what a win!!! In regards to Hermantown, it is becoming comedic with the teams that did not win the big one. I still can’t believe it. The karma police is working at all times. This may have been mentioned in other posts but did anyone else listen to Hermantown coach on 45 ...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

Time for Andrews to get the axe? Three years as head coach, three colossal chokes. I would love to hear from someone who knows hockey and knows Hermantown hockey well enough to know what Hermantown did or didn’t do in order to ‘choke’. They put 42 shots on goal. They bore down and tied it in...

Mahtomedi and Hermantown both play AA at youth levels, but step down to Class A once they get to high school. Gross.

In the battle for the "Play AA at Youth, Yet Play A in HS Cup", I'll go with Hermantown 5-2.

Mahtomedi's win yesterday was impressive, but the Hawks top talent will overwhelm them.

Re: The Hermantown Thread

I talked with many parents from the Hibbing 2010-11 state team and they had absolutely nothing good to say about the Hibbing hockey program. They really hammered on the almost non-existent summer program and noted how physically Hermantown manhandled Hibbing. The Hibbing program has been troubled f...

I could care less about the enrollment. All that matters is how many kids are currently Playing in your program the range schools including Grand Rapids are the same. both field a A team of some kind and a B team. So what’s your excuse now. Exactly! From each associations own website: GR: 427 total...
