Exactly my point, thank you! Hermantown has a HUGE advantage being in a metro area. It's just a fact. They have relatively easy access to open enrolled talent and it is much easier for a family to find employment there than it is in outstate. I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just saying it is a fact, a...

Again, who are the open enrollees? From what I can tell thre maybe 1 on he current varsity and he may live in side the HT school district. The 2 mentioned earlier are not open enrolled. For all the people "who know people" and have the "inside scoop", this question keeps getting ignored. Ask for pr...

Rainier and Jeffy neither of you know diddly squat about the Hermantown Community or Hockey program. As a matter of fact, I don’t think you have the slightest idea what the word community even means and that is pretty sad actually. Go ahead and tear me apart now  I have no interest in tearing...

I have a question for those in the 'know'. How many players on this year's varsity roster do not live in the Hermantown school district? How many started playing for Hermantown youth hockey in Bantams? Peewees? How many came to Hermantown when they were in high school? Not debating whether HT shoul...

I think Hermantown’s attracts more kids to come play for them when/if they opt up. As a AA program, they would be the darlings of the state of hockey. I’m in Hermantown often. A great town, school, tax base, and a great sports community right next to Duluth. The Edina of northern Minnesota but bett...

Re: Greenway's Ben Troumbly Injured

Bad luck for the Raiders. Ben took a knee on knee hit last night and will be evaluated by the doctor today. Doesn't look good. Any chance for Greenway to beat Hermantown has been pretty much eliminated. Ugh, saw there was a major for kneeing given to a Superior player, but didn't know it was this. ...

[quote="kniven" If Hermantown moves to 7AA , my CEC Lumberjacks will have an even more difficult time winning the section and moving on to state. Hermantown would be the premier power in 7AA, not Duluth East. They would have to prove it, of course. But I have no doubt. Luckily -being a fan of CEC i...

As much as I think that all private schools should play AA, I think it would be hilarious if Marshall moved to A when Herm goes to AA. The look on Jeffy and rain man's face would be priceless. Their recent love for Marshall would fade real fast. It's certainly possible. What's also possible is that...

Now that this topic has its forever home, I’ll open the discussion with an overview. I invite anyone interested to please correct me where I may have erred, but I ask that you do it specifically, and not just with general insults, which will likely get nuked by the moderators anyway. Jeffy95 adds a lot to this board. I’ve been participating on this board since it’s inception and have seen many good members quit participating or greatly reduce their participation. The fact that some are tired of hearing about what Hermantown does or should do I have one piece of advice: quit rea...

My question again, what has Moorhead done to deserve a 6th ranking??? They win the SOG totals by a lot in every game. They are Moorhead, and everybody says they are really good. They have the best players for an A team opting up to AA. Does Moorhead really opt up? I assumed their enrollment was fai...

Virginia beats Cathedral and takes Cloquet to the limit, yet they have dropped recent games against Proctor and Hibbing, and tied an I-Falls team they beat 7-1 earlier in the season. These are teams they should beat. Not sure what's going on with that team. Seems like a lot of standing around watchi...

Jeffy, Regardless of the content posting those financials and proprietary minutes goes way beyond the level of appropriate. And because it was a topic to be discussed in minutes doesn't make it fact. You are way over the line there. Proprietary? These are posted on the Hermantown site for anyone to...

QUOTEIn the minutes of a Herm youth hockey board meeting from a year or two ago, they discussed the fact that recruiting of players from nearby associations was indeed happening and that there had been complaints from Herm parents about it. This is a fact. I read it myself on the association websit...

"in the minutes from a year or two ago"...You don't think there have been disgruntled parents who come into meetings frustrated because their player didn't make a top team?... and the reason was so and so moved in and was "recruited"? I am sure that likely happened (no idea) and if so, where do you...

Let's see philosophical Eveleth's or North Shore's of the world even break into the top 20 in A even before you can have that discussion. That is unless your ok with sending a team from the North down for a participation trophy. The 2nd class was created for "the little guy" not the privates and we...
