Hibbing will have Lund , Galli, and Frider returning. It should help from a mshsl violation but it came from a teammate whose mom teaches English at the Hs so it may be not so helpful 😩
I’ve read that 5 times and I still don’t get it???

Re: Jackson Blake

62, how could MSHSL ever refute a financial hardship when moving from a private school to public? Seems like a bottomless can of worms. Eagles fine with or without him, but he is fun to watch play. I’ll probably catch one of their games soon. I’m not sure if we’re being sarcastic or not, but Dad ha...

Re: 7A - Thoughts

As I sit watching the game on my9 I was wondering if anyone knew this stat for the Hawks. How many of the Hawks players started in Hermantown youth hockey from mites and are on the varsity. Not stirring the pot but just curious, we all know the Hawks get a ton of move ins. They beat Eveleth 5-2 las...

Re: Jackson Blake

After doing some research; I wish this kid the best. And I apologize to him for anything I did to contribute to this thread.

But it doesn’t change the fact that EP engineered an NBA style run. I haven’t seen anything like this outside of Hermantown.....,

I believe this is a free country, and I have the right to speak my mind, whether it be anonymously, or front and center. Absolutely you do. If you don't care how bad you look as long as you make someone else look bad, have at it. I don’t he think he looks bad and I don’t see how he’s making anyone ...

Re: Jackson Blake

If I recall right, Zach Michaelis transferred back to Elk after some time at Shattuck and was not eligible to play varsity for a while after that. I cant remember if he was Elk bantam eligible that year,or played AAA somewhere., He moved back to ER at the time of Bantam Tryouts, was at tryouts and ...

Re: Minnesota Article on Eden Prairie

The elder took a scouting job with (I believe the Bruins) and is flying a lot. Thus more sense to be in MPlS area and close to the airport. I think the younger is a junior. He didn't exactly just "take" a job with the Bruins. He's been working for them in Player Development since 2015. His Job Titl...

Re: Jackson Blake

My question is: how was he allowed to play on the bantam team if he came back in January? MN hockey states that you are required to be rostered by 12/31 (NO EXCEPTIONS, per MN hockey handbook). USA Hockey rosters are set after Dec. 31. Like Jackson, my son also joined a team to play from January on...

Re: Jackson Blake

So according to the rules, he is not eligible for Varsity for one calendar year I don't think that's the rule. Admittedly, I don't know MSHSL rules very well. Would seem to deter families from relocating to the Twin Cities if they have high school age children. Participating on a sports team is oft...

Re: Jackson Blake

If he came in January then how can he be on the Varsity Roster? Another “exception” to the rules? No. He’s an Eden prairie kid. He was at Shattuck, moved back to EP as a freshman halfway through the bantam season. Finished rest of season with bantam team. Exactly. He didn’t start his 9th grade year...

Re: Minnesota Article on Eden Prairie

Move ins, quitters returning, movers returning. So the story of the season in EP may be will the talent on the ice outweigh the temperament in the locker room? Kids say they want to play with their buddies in high school. Move ins, transfers, etc. meanwhile all your buddies get cut. Sounds more lik...

Rumor around Duluth is that there will be a very big addition to the Coaching Staff in Proctor this year. The Rails look to be a program on the rise. Rumor no more. Scott Pionk has came back home to be an assistant coach on the Proctor bench this year. What kind of team they have over in Proctor th...

Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers. I haven’t heard much about this hockey team this year. Would someone fill me in on the Marshall squad this upcoming season. Offense is going to be a struggle for the Hilltoppers this year. They graduated 75% of their goals from a year ago. Oman is a good player but is t...

I’m with Schozty. This is not anywhere near a big deal to me. The kid wants to play with the friends he grew up with. Every time some kids leaves early for juniors half you freak out about how there is nothing better than playing with the kids you grew up with, and here a kid is trying to do that b...

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

I am glad MM is back at SCC. You can't fault him for the path he has taken. Sometimes there are twists and turns. Dad takes new job in the Cities Hmmm.. where should they we move to? A) Stay at SCC with your 'buddies'- part of the Team. OR B) Is there a progam/school that would offer a great opport...

I am not sure I am following. SCC is a private school. How does any of this apply to him? Am I missing something?
Private schools have the same transfer rules as public schools. They’re part of the MSHSL.

Re: Will Curt Giles ever get his due?

He has a great record as HC for Edina. Tom Saterdalen and Willard Ikola are considered legends. Like Giles, they led prominent programs to several state titles with great players. Giles should be viewed in the same light. Lee Smith as well. So much fawning about Mike Randolph. Why not Giles? He's c...
