I should also add that my own kid doesn't always make the A team. He's gone, starting at Squirts B then A, Pee Wee B then A, to Bantam A. So I know what it is like to be the parent of a kid on a B team. I also know that kids can and do go from B teams to A teams. For starters my kids have mixed A a...

I am not so naïve that I do not think there are kids making teams based on some 'political' move. And I am not so dumb that I know that the top players are making the A (AA) team. So the best of the B and the worst of the A can be exchanged. This ahs been true for all times and for all associations...

Why would Minnesota change it's association based model to a Tier 1 and club model? From everything I see the association model works much better. Higher participation. Highly developed players. Is your goal to bring Minnesota hockey down to the level of the rest of the country? Escalate costs like...

Now I understand your line of reasoning but I don't agree with it. Every organization, whether it is an association or a Tier 1 Club, is subject to politics and corruption. I'm on the board of my local association and, you might be surprised to hear this, we have more issues with the B and lower pl...

I don't think of THawks as being inconsistent, but just not playing to what we were given to believe was their potential. When that happens the conclusion would be they were not as good as we were told. I think the team is in that 8 to 10 range in AA. That they will give section 7AA a run. if they ...

Doubt either team will show much in the final regular season game. Overlook Greenway and both teams will be watching from the stands at excel. Will be a fun race for the title. Greenway will give Hermantown a tighter game than that overrated, over hyped team 6 miles to the west. :P Agreed, no one i...

This. GR fans on this forum were complaining about those character issues last year when they were talking about not coming out to skate like they meant it as opposed to just showing up at the rink and etc. The people who pointed it out were ridiculed for it if I remember correctly. That kid who wa...

Yep, Rapids looked like a hockey team in the first period. They did not match the effort or intensity in the second. Adams' major can be called Boarding, or Roughing, or whatever, but the truth is that he got a major for Immaturity and Stupidity. It was a bad penalty and could have been worse - bot...

It's very difficult to assess Hermantown's goalie. The lesser teams don't put too many shots on goal and their defensemen are excellent. So you wonder how many quality shots reach the goalie. Wayzata (not known for scoring), Roseville and Hopkins put a 3 spot on Hermantown. None of them have the fi...

If safety is a priority as USA Hockey says it is then we should go with more officials who can call penalties. Hockey needs to do away with linesmen entirely and just go to zone coverage like football, baseball, and basketball. Triangulating a play in hockey is fairly easy, why the thought process ...

Re: What is going on with East? Is it panic time?
The Greyhound have lost 4 in a row since starting 4-0. Is East's run finally over or is this a small bump in the road for Randolphs team? Joking right? Never panic with Randolph behind the bench and your section playoffs are in your back yard. They have Rapids and Elks number every year in sections...

Sounds good. I have also wondered the reason they don't play could be because of other possible reasons than just the A/AA thing. My theories are: 1. They totally hate each other, as the whole getting voted out of the LSC probably created some serious bad blood. 2. Their completely different philos...

Personally if I was connected to a team that had to play them when it mattered I would be worried. Look what happened last year. They played Rapids at home and almost got shut out if I remember it right. Something like 5 to 1 or 6 to 1. Then when it counted Rapids could not score 1 goal on them in t...

There is no doubt that the sophomores/juniors skate harder and work harder. On another note, GR hasn't had much opportunity to get Mattson-Bischoff-Adams to play together yet. Still no word on if Adams is playing tonight/this week. I thought they played better last year when Adams was on the line w...

I would love to go with Rapids but the Seniors just haven't shown up yet this year. Edina should be able to take advantage of breakout blunders by the Rapids defensemen. Edina 5 (en) Rapids 3 I have to agree. I have seen GR go a couple of times this year and their guys are back into that skating wh...

It probably looks like the scene from Good Will Hunting when you walk into that classroom and see that chalk board covered in calculations and formulas and him standing there looking it over with a satisfied look on his face. Those last two losses by East have dropped them to #42 in PageStat, 33rd in Class AA. That's unprecedented and I've been running PageStat since the 1997-98 season. Of far more importance is the question; what do they do now? Luckily it's only December so there is time. Before they end up going on t...

I agree with rainer but also think that we need to do a little bit more training about injury prevention for the kids. I am pretty sure that the kids are bigger, stronger and faster now than they were even 10 years ago. How many kids did you know who played hockey year around 15 years ago? Not many....

Half of PW aged players in MN are Bantam eligible in the rest of the US. I was opposed to this when it first came out but feel there should be some modification. Checking in PWA or AA should be allowed but the current rule for the B level would be a good idea for development. This was passed using ...

I still think Hermantown should move up to AA given the quality of their program. The biggest thing to me is trying to find an answer to the question of why don't they want their kids to get a good hard challenge? I get that they play a few decent AA teams most years so you could say that they do ge...
