I would think Dan Trebil would be on the list before Ben Clymer if we are putting the majority of the emphasis on HS career. What about Aaron Miskovich, Grand Rapids? I am really suprised we haven't seen more of the stars from Grand Rapids from the mid to late 70s and early 80s. Think there has been...

I have a hard time seeing how rau gets ahead of scott bloom, and rau makes top 20 and guys like ryan kraft, erik westrum, dan carlson, jeff taffe and dan welch probably won't even make the list. I think they have done an incredible job, but there are definitely gonna be some guys who deserve to make...

Yeah, really suprised with Matt Cullen at #28. Thought he would definitely be top 15. So basically that guarantees Ryan Kraft of Moorhead doesn't make the list, which is insane because the liklihood of him being ranked higher than Cullen is minimal. Have to agree with what has been said about Dan Ca...

Didn't see hornets play a whole lot last year, but when I did, he didn't seem to really stand out to me, I know he was only a soph and he's playing best hs competition in state, but there were other sophs that in my mind really stood out like the johnson kid from hibbing who committed to und...all b...

Have to agree with what "coachrabbit" had to say. Many valid points. Tiger-no kids, and didn't play for ln. U do seem to be pretty passionate though for someone who has no skin in the game. Again, its all irrelevant, hopefully a good coaching staff comes in and gives kids a reason to stay and play f...

Keepyourheadup, Didn't say a bantam a team would beat, but rather give section 1 teams a run for their money, guarantee eden praries bantam a team last year wins a quarterfinal game and possibly a semifinal game in section 1 tourney facing the likes of a dodge county or farmington team. Tigers, agai...

Tigger-slow down here boss! We all know u have been to the games and know intimate details about the program! Not sure anyone is 'excited' he got fired, just clear it was time for a change. As far as getting to the tourney it would be a big deal if they made it last 2 yrs when your beating teams lik...

Mulefarm and tigers33 LN coaches? Are u kidding me? I knew it all along! No, mulefarm had '2 kids play in the ushl'. Interesting. No conspiracy here boys. Schmitz has been INCOMPETENT since he took the helm. He didn't deserve to be the coach. No bias here. Just the truth. It happens at a lot of scho...

Tigers33-i believe with a solid hs coaching staff in place that has a 'plan' and actually interacts with the coaches in its feeder program and makes those coaches feel like they are coaching kids to get them to the next level where they will be in good hands will make a world of a difference. I know...

Apparently these mods take their jobs real serious as they take down every other one of my comments! Mulefarm must be a 'respected elder' here on the board and have some serious pull in the world of online hs hockey experts! Tiger33-nah, he's all good. Keepyourheadup-agreed on the part about all the...

Mulefarm-you should be working so you can get out of your mom's basement and contribute to this world more than your wity hs hockey posts pal! I'm dangerous? Tigers33-Randy, is that you?! Thought so! You beat Moorhead and WBL? What's your point? Without Lindgren and a few lucky bounces both those teams roll you. Plain and simple. LN didn't even deserve to be in the same rink as either of those teams. Moorhead was flat in the tourney anyway and WBL, well,...

Stumeat, Matt Laatsch never played any hockey for lakeville. He grew up playing in the burnsville youth program and started going to STA as an 8th grader I believe. He played hockey there his freshman and sophomore yrs and then left for the USHL. Keepyourheadup, my point is even BEFORE the split whe...

Keepyourheadup-schmitz did get crucified for not allowing jordan schroeder to try out as an 8th grader, but Vannelli let him. Think he was happy with that decision in hindsight? My point being is you make exceptions for certain players, and obviously jordan was a rare talent that easily would have b...

Bottom line all are failing to realize here is people have been trying to get Schmitz out of that program since the early 90's! In fact, in the early 2000's (don't recall the exact year) Schmitz was featured on the front page of the sports section in the strib with a story about how the parents (yes...

why would players leaving affect a coach? Great point. To the kids, don't be in such a rush. High school hockey is a once in a lifetime event. Stay and play with your buddies. Great examples of guys staying: Kyle Rau, Nick Bjugstad, Jake Gardiner, Ryan McDonough, Max Everson, Nick Leddy, Zach Budis...

My guess is that the Islanders wanted to get Ness away from the U just like they did with Okposo. With the results the Islanders have had the last few years, I'd say they need to worry about their own program before whining about someone elses. No joke! Ness is gonna get rolled. He will never play ...
