I agree that bringing in "Ringers" and sitting kids who paid for large stretches of tournaments is in bad taste and buyer beware to sign your kid up for a team like that. Ask for full disclosure from the coach prior to sending the check. But the Blades, Icemen and MN Made do not "own" the kids on t...

Re: how is the trny marketing itself
If the tournament is calling itself AAA, then any player should be allowed no matter how good they are. You should easily be able to find how these programs define AAA hockey. I believe part of it call for playing with and against elite players. If the tournament is called "rec" or something like t...

The original premise of the 98 Fire was to try and keep the 98 Machine team together. Some of the of the Machine kids opted to stay with their association and then the team was filled in with Deuce type players and the token 4 from Wisconsin. The small association factor doesn't come into play with ...

The teams are up front with the practice players as far as I know and if they bring kids in for a tourney the parents know far ahead of time and are fine with it. If not they have a choice to not play on the team Now that is a funny statement........and nowhere near the truth if you ask some of the...

Muckandgrind- Nobody is "bashing" the fire. I personally think it is fine that you are able to play year round against other Tier 1 teams and Yes people do understand that this is how other states are doing it. But, Minnesota has the luxury for thousands of kids to play, develop and compete within o...

Why are we even comparing a hand picked team that has been playing together for 2+ years to a STMA team that might have 5 games under their belt. The fact the fire have played 28 games already is a huge advantage against any other association team. The fact is .....I could hand pick a team from the ...

Local Squirt A Tournaments with Availability
Does anyone have a list of local Squirt A tournaments that have some openings? I saw the Johnson tournament but I was wondering if any other tournaments were out there. Silverstick? Bloomington? Just wanted to find one more. Thanks

Quack, I agree with everything you said except: One important note: Keep in mind one of these two programs keeps kids on their roster all year long. The other will add and subtract players throughout the season. Which one would you rather have your kids play for?[/quote] On occasion Blades families ...

Quack, I don't have a problem with a team "shortening" the bench towards the end of the game when it is on the line, however, when you completely "cut" the bench off from the first drop of the puck and those kids never see the ice that's when the problems come in. All of the kids earned a spot on th...

Machine Line Equal Play
Not to say the 98 Machine won't be at or near the top for a while but I think they are going to have some problems in the future. From what I know they are the only Machine team that completely overplays their top line. Ask anyone that has seen them play (heck, ask the parents of the kids on their ...

Final Results of the 98 Easton Cup
This thread is pretty quiet.........are the Machine folks a little humbled that the Blades finally did what they've been capable of doing all along? I figured!

don't bother watching any of the other AAA teams - only the best one with the best kids - especially the 9 and 10 year olds. They are the only ones that will ever make it to D1 or the NHL. By 9 or 10 - everyone knows who will be a stud when they are 18. You have to be joking. These are 9 and 10 yea...

jancze5, I agree this thread is a joke, but I'm going to have to disagree that Minnesota Made has cornered the market on hockey talent. If that were the case then Bernie would not be calling the Blades parents trying to get them to come over to the Machine. The products are different in the fact tha...

Icemen23, what do you know about the 98 Blades and how Brian Bellows coaches. Until you know your facts I think you should keep your thoughts to yourself. The Blades are a great organization with great talent and "dumping" Bellows as you put it, is the only way to develope the talent of the whole te...

Re: 98 Blades go 0-4-1 at Brick Tour.
98 Blades fall way short at the Brick in Canada 0-4-1 one point !!!!! The 97 Blades team was the best team ever to play for the Blades at the Brick. The 97 Blades coaches did a great job last year. I would agree the 97 Blades have been the best, but until you know all of the dynamics of what went o...
