The biggest recruiters for high school or youth hockey are the kids themselves. If you really want to see fewer top kids switching programs then you should argue for less off season hockey like selects, elite league, etc so these kids don't get an opportunity to play together.

So what team is everyone going to jump on to opt up next? We all better get on the same page. MAML? The next one to go to the finals in state at A level for 10 years in a row for starters. Just a thought but perhaps Hermantown wouldn't have made all those consecutive championship games if people di...

From what I have heard, STMA's new rink is scheduled to break ground in August and will be open for the start of the 2018-19 season. I agree with you that there should never be a semi-final game played in that rink ever! It's a joke for HS hockey period. It's one of the many reasons why the hockey ...

Alex Lyon is in the Flyers system in the ECHL I believe.

Important to remember that all the guys that have been used as examples were extremely touted as prep players, all but Boyd were drafted in the first or second round. as freshman they had mixed results.....Schroeder had arguably the best year of his career at any level with 45 points. Add MN Wild to the list Not sure if this should be a different thread, but does anyone know of MN high school coaches who have left to coach at higher levels, as opposed to being run out of town by parents or just looking to free up more time. Seeing the path that Jon Cooper took to become head coa...

Interesting trend at SCSU, 10 of their 12 committed recruits are from MN. The Huskies typically have fewer Minnesotans than UMN, UMD, and sometimes MSUM. They'll likely always have fewer than the Gophers, but they could potentially catch the Bulldogs. Could be a shift in recruiting strategy, a shif...

The rule should be that the suspension has to take place in a sport you participated in the previous year. The fact that you can go out for Cross Country, and not give two rips about Cross Country, to serve the penalty is silly. My junior year a friend got a minor in the spring. The next four track...

Social media today makes it so much tougher. The kids are just as dumb today as they were 30 years ago when in reality they need to be a lot smarter. I graduated in 2009 and even since then it's completely different. When Warroad went to state that year one kid got suspended for chewing in the hotel...
