Re: Streaming For Dummies
Here are the MN rinks that Livebarn is installed at. Unless they deliberately turn off the feed, they are always showing what's going on on the ice. Re: What we learned after week one?
Pellicci will almost single-handedly carry Prior Lake to a respectable record in the South Suburban. 34 save shutout in their opener. Speaking of....Edina 9 - Eden Prairie 0?? Is that accurate? Are the Hornets THAT good? And who forgot to call in the results? Does the home team enter the stats? If i...

One of you has to change your name, they're too similar. I thought you were arguing with yourself until I looked at the names again.

Re: AA Preseason Rankings
The case for Breck to move up to AA becomes weaker after Couser, Zumwinkle and the older Lindsay sister graduate this May. I don't think it's out of bounds to suggest Chisago, Gentry and Warroad have comparable/better rosters this season. I don't think good players will stop going to Breck. No diff...

Re: Mask recommendations?
I haven't heard about HS refs, but MN Hockey referees were specifically instructed to not enforce anything in regards to masks. I'd be surprised if HS is different.lakescountrylife wrote: ↑Tue Jan 12, 2021 10:04 amPlayers can be assessed a bench minor for improper mask wearing.

Re: Scoring lost/returning: Class AA
As to the other point, graduated senior goalies off the top of my head include Andover (who recruited a fine replacement), Hill-Murray (who will be just fine), Stillwater, North Wright County, Woodbury, Forest Lake (who takes over for Goehner?), Apple Valley, Faribault, and Delano/Rockford. Eastvie...

Re: Scoring lost/returning: Class AA
The goalie stats are even more F’d up than the scoring numbers. A lot of times the W/L records don’t match because sometimes both goalies on the roster were given credit for playing in the game. I figured that, it's tough to make a list of goalies by something measurable. I was thinking something s...

Re: Scoring lost/returning: Class AA
Wow, this is great, thanks for putting it together. Chaska looks to be a pretty solid team this year, I didn't realize they were so young last year. It would also be cool to see which teams are losing goalies that played the majority of minutes. (I'm not asking you to do this, unless you're still bo...

Re: AA Preseason Rankings
I love the predictions. Great time of year, glad we're actually discussing this at all this year. 1. Andover 2. Edina .... 3. Maple Grove 4. Minnetonka 5. Lakeville South 6. Wayzata 7. BSM After that, I could pick between a bunch of teams for the next 3 spots that are all interchangeable to me at th...

Re: Mask recommendations for high school hockey
Rumor has it the referees for HS games will follow the NCAA protocol, which means they will wear a gaiter. They can pull it down below their chin during play, then pull it above their mouth/nose during stoppages. If this is true, I'm not sure players will appreciate having to wear a mask during play...

Re: One week away... (fingers crossed)
MN Dept of Health just came out with details, good news, they can officially get started next Monday. Players must wear masks on ice. Practices only Jan 4-13; no more than 25 players in a "pod". Games starting Jan 14, guidance on games forthcoming. No spectators Jan 4-13, it does not say if spectato...

Re: covid and MH
WOM - my point was that we can't point you to a study or data that says hockey is safe during a pandemic. No study has been conducted. So instead, I ask for decisions to be made based on relative danger compared to other activities in society. And certainly relative to the dangers that a shut-down p...

Re: covid and MH
The problem is, none of those on the “it’s no big deal”/“just open it up”/“kids hardly ever have bad outcomes or die from this” side of the debate ever acknowledge or are willing/able to provide real facts from legitimate experts to support their positions/opinions. I’ve said a number of times now ...

So you paid for 10 games. $21 per game. You played 7 games. $30 per game. The league provided a service. Refunds would be difficult. They may have encountered unforeseen costs, or they will be able to charge a little less for a future program. Frankly, the rate at which they put this whole league t...

Thanks. I was familiar with that site. I was thinking of being able to view something like old newspapers from Roseau/Warroad to view the different accounts of game from their hometown newspaper. Off the top of my head, would also like to look at old newspapers from I Falls, Rapids, Hibbing, Virgin...

Re: XPL
So the XPL is shut down due to the pause. Teams played roughly half of the scheduled 10 games. They have no intention of making up the games but also will not be refunding the players. Their reasoning: we are unable to refund money to participants for the cancellations due to the Covid pandemic. The...

Re: MSHSL Oct 1st Meeting (Boys Hockey Season Fate)
It is becoming more obvious that the source is correct and that most schools (at least High Schools) around the state will be going full-time remote learning very soon if they're not already. You just have to follow the link below, they update this every Thursday. Basically, if the county that your ...

Re: Transfers 20-21
If I can read between the lines, you're looking for respect for HF girls hockey? The only way to earn it is to win. And they haven't done that yet. One playoff win (against Jefferson) in two years of existence (sans co-op). I'm not saying they won't win, you're right, there is a bright future with t...

Re: Transfers 20-21
Good for HF for stepping up their schedule a little bit this year with games against Blake, BSM, Hill-Murray, Edina, & Wayzata but they still have 2/3 of their games against Dodge Co, Jefferson, Delano, Hutchinson, New Prague, Litchfield, Waconia, etc.
