Re: Jackson Blake

It’s clear you don’t know how some of those players ended up at LVS. The 4 Farmingtom players have played with LVS kids in the summer for years and decided on their own to transfer because Farmingtom was such a mess under coach Marsh. As for the Apple valley goalie, well he got put on the bantam C ...

Re: 2020 MS Goalie

Facts about girl goalies playing boys HS. 1. girls are usually done growing by 10th grade. Most boys are just hitting their growth spurts. Kids who you never thought would play any varsity growing up are now skating a regular shift and are successful.(all positions) 2. In boys hockey especially wit...

When you have "Futures" that have been cut by their HS JV team, you have to wonder about the selection criteria.

I didn't realize that points scored was the only indicator of a player's worthiness to be deemed "All Metro". I always thought a player's impact on the game could be made in ways that don't show up in the box score. Perhaps I am too old fashioned.

I understand your frustration, but as a MH board member I cannot advise anyone to opt for a law suit. As president of Bemidji youth hockey when the I and the board were approached about a girl that wanted to play with the 'boys' team, I told them they would have to sue me, because I would not allow...

A B&A team or a AAA team does not address the root of the problem. The problem, as suggested earlier, is that a typical HS team does not have the depth of quality players and slows the development of the better players as they are encouraged to play a selfish style. The root of that problem lies...

It is ignorant to even suggest that a boy should get a spot on a girls team when a girl gets a spot on a boys team. The underlying concept on why girls play on boys team is to enhance their development. If a boy is not good enough to beat out a girl, how is playing on a girls team going to enhance h...

[quote]I think the only exception is if you have an A player and your association doesn't have an A team at the girls level. In this instance I would put the girl in the boys program. I suggest that another exception would be the situation where the association chooses to field an A team at the girl...

Some are saying it is okay for a girl to play on a boys team in certain situations. However, others want to change the rules and not allow girls on a boys team. If the rules are changed and those girls are not allowed on a boys team in certain situations, those girls will likely quit or play on a AA...

Girls on boys teams

Why do we need to change the MN/USA hockey rules? Please help me understand how having a few girls playing on a boys team is hurting the overall girls program? I don't understand how a girl choosing to play on a team with teammates at her level (a boys A team) is all that different from a high-level...
