Educational purposes, now that vaults to the top of the list. I can't compete with such a professional as yourself IM. Keep up the good work though, you're only 10 posts away from the magical 1,000. Working on the Hall of Fame election speech yet?

OK IM, i am sorry...I have read, and can provide the following. It does look like an association can refuse to allow a skater to participate. If the local group elects to move the skater to a member not in good standing, the MN Hockey by laws (page 16 of the handbook) allow them to refuse to registe...

IM,
This wouldn't happen to be the same family that gave up legal guardianship to an older sibling so he could skate for another association?

Unless, of course, it has nothing to do with the waiver, and you, or "her parents" are pushing that agenda.

Fred,
Couldn't agree more, but what is going on with Tearse. This is the second time that he is publically going agains the MH BOD. That man's ego amazes me!

GB58,
Could I interpret from your post that Mr. Tearse out punted his coverage and let an ego get in the way of fact? Doesn't MNH have a policy to prevent this type of stuff. I recall Mr. Elliott getting lambasted for using this forum as a sounding board.

I'm not blaming the young lady; because the rules permit a choice. You actually confirmed my thought process. In the outstate, many of our teams are filled with "figure skaters, and friends that just started hockey", and again, you are correct, not ideal, but reality! All I was trying to p...

I don't know if D2 meant that the success is burdened by the girls. What IS missed the a huge marketing and recruitment opportunity. If the upper level girls select youth (boys) hockey as their avenue, then the social marketing concept is lost. Build the program with numbers, the cream will rise. Ba...

GreyBeard,
Thank you very much for taking a leadership role in this. A proposed change of this magnitude is best served through education, at the local level, and not mandated through a rule change. Implementation will only damage MN Hockey's registration numbers.

Dog,
Insurance companies do not pay for the type of legal representation that MH is using. Those additional dollars are coming directly from the general budget. This is a huge expense for MH.
