Here's a list of per capita income by municipality: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Minnesota_locations_by_per_capita_income Interesting that 7 of the top 10 are towns around Lake Minnetonka. And not a single state champ...dare I say...ever from this area??? First state champ on the list is Ed...

So RESPECT...You are saying you would rather have a kid go play on the 3rd or 4th line on a NAHL team than play on the top line of their respective high school team. The thing that cracks me up are the kids that leave high school early and than they wind up playing D3. Its like going to Blake High ...

Re: Wisconsin vs Minnesota

We all know that minnesota high school produces more college and pro players. They have a larger number of elite hockey players too. So we know that minnesota has more good hockey players. The question that I want to debate is If you made a team with the top high school players from the whole state...

Seems pretty clear that the MI, WI, MN-U18 pool contained the best three teams in the showdown. Too bad one of them could not have been in the other pool to create a real championship game. That's ok, still great hockey and the kids got amazing exposure per usual. Seems pretty clear the order of fi...

Re: MSHSL adds a 7th class in football

The MSHSL voted to add a 7th class in football comprised of the states largest 32 teams starting in 2012. This was based on a coaches recomendation due, in large part to just 3 schools; Eden Prairie, Wayzata, and Minnetonka. The original proposal was for 16 teams but was expanded to 32 teams essent...

What is the "A" vs "AA" weighting when calculating points? Is it arbitrary or did you use some statistical method? Class A points were calculated at 36% of Class AA points. The 0.36 I came up with was the result of comparing the PageStat ratings of every Class A team to every Cl...

The core of the issue is the option to move up. MSHSL has created a two tier system with the ability for private schools to exploit the lower tier. If MSHSL would simply not allow schools to opt up this would no longer be an issue. You would end up with a small school and large school champion. Now...

HS Hockeywatcher, Fair enough. My comments were directed at STA because that has been the topic of the thread. I think Breck should move up as well. Totino too. Probably Blake as well. I don't think any of these schools should be forced to go, but they should do it to respect the purpose of the two...

I believe, and by no means do I know that I am right, that the MSHSL decided to go to two classes to help grow hockey. To let more schools have more excitement. This it definitely has done. Not only have smaller public schools gained in hockey, but as has been stated small private schools who had l...
