Here is a good question regarding numbers and growth In the last three years how many HS girls hockey teams were new? In the last three years how many HS girls teams co-op'd? What does this represent for growth? Spin the numbers all you want, if we have record growth as mentioned by others, why are...

I am not denying that there should be an award for top senior goalie. Simply that there should be 10 semifinalists and 5 finalists. And if everyone has the opportunity at all state, why was the best goalie in the state tourney not all state? And Lauren Bench is All state because she was a finalist ...

8-0. Who cares about individual records or getting their seniors on the ice. All they did is turned more people against them. I just don't see what fun it is to win an A title when they have no competition. The players care, which is what this is all about, right? Not a bunch of whiney adults sad t...

Congrats to Norby. Best player in the state this year. Sorry having the best player doesn't mean you get to state 36guy. Also Brenneman was the best senior candidate. They need to reduce the goalie semi finalists and finalists however because the best goalies aren't seniors. Seems watered down. Als...

Re: Hockey Stats Accuracy.
The refs take care of the stats for the skaters, so the goals and the assists for the most part are accurate. Don't be fooled -- it is the coaches/managers who are entering the scoring online after the game. There are plenty of "phantom" assists and scoring changes that take place long af...

MN Showcase runs a women's college league out of Braemar in the summer. Depending on which MIAC team she is going to, she might be able to find a team to play with in that league. Otherwise, they welcome individual sign-ups. In the past, it has included 10 games and playoffs. http://www.showcasehock...

Keep in mind winning solves a lot of problems... or at least keeps them in the shadows. All teams have their issues, but I'd argue that a coach's job can become incrementally more difficult if the team is not winning. IMO, this more than anything is why you see the correlation between turnover and l...

Re: perspective???

With the huge rating swings near the top and goofy results near the bottom it looks like SOS needs a little tweaking. A 2 win team should not be ranked higher than a 14 win team just because they lost games to Buffalo and NWC. SOS is an average of the strength of teams they play, regardless of outc...

Players dont care. As a current coach with a high school girls team, I can guarantee that you are very sorely mistaken. I am constantly trying to get the girls to stop counting their point on the bench during the game, let alone after the game when they want to see their names in the paper. As a fo...

Does it really matter people? I think the answer to this question is dependent upon why we even have the league to begin with - the players. It matters to the players. They care about their statistics and I think it is the duty of the game officials to do as accurate of a job as possible. Game offi...

You are WAY off track and time will prove it out. MG goalie kicked out rebounds all game and Hopkins wasn't crashing the net or following their shots for easy put backs. This game wasn't nearly as close as the score indicated. Hopkins won 5-1 over Maple Grove and Hopkins played poorly. I feared a &...

I'd post in the youth forum but they all seem very one sided and not open for discussion. Now i understand most of the pros and cons of this... but aren't we forgetting what should be the number one deciding factor... the kids. If the kids have been polled (granted i don't know how in-depth this stu...
