Brecks succes seems to come in 4 year cycles. Until they can keep sustained success at the A level, a move to AA is not warranted.

Breck played well. They got hosed on a couple of calls by the traditionally homer Shattuck refs. I wasn't impressed, however, by Breck's top line. The second line, centered by Nystedt, looked much better on this particular night.

Running up the score? Even if Tonka wanted to, they wouldn't have been able to run up the score. It was 2-1 with 8 minutes to play...

Re: Holy Angels (21-4-1) @ Edina (22-4) 2-28-09

Holy Angels' only loss in their last 14 games has been to Shattuck. Edina has lost 3 of their last 10. And the Gophers have lost something like their last 10. I'd still take them over either. Doesn't matter much when the competition is so much different. Edina would have won those 13 games too obvi...

And how early would one need to show up to get tickets?

Not overrated, but without Haeg, they will be shorthanded and overmatched. Edina 5-2.

Hey Goldy23, Blake did almost beat Breck yesterday. Sure, the final was 4-2, however the last Breck goal was essentially an empty netter. It was 2-2 after after 2 and Blake outshot Breck for the game. They outhustled them for most of the game, although not by a lot. Breck is the team to beat from t...

All the bloggers bragging about Breck and how weak the Tri Metro and other teams are seems to be forgetting about the last two(2) or three(3) years plus for Breck. They were nothing special. Yes, great to see their success and it would be wonderful to see them get to State. It has been a long time ...

Shattuck

I saw the Shattuck vs. Culver game a week back. They were fast as hell and were definitely skating with "reckless abandon" - that's fun hockey to watch. They had a little goaltending trouble, had to switch in the third.

1. Breck 2. Breck 3. Breck I'm afraid that I have to agree. While Breck has certainly had it's share of success in this conference the past decade, they are hands down the best team in a very weak conference this year and will only be stronger next year. They have only played 2 conference games but...

Many Edina fans have been calling for Giles head for years.
They did for two years, four years ago. Nothing but praise since, and rightfully so. If you want to talk about fans getting on coaches' backs, look to Orono, not Edina.

It only worked for Warroad and Anoka. And again they all looked a bit foolish (maybe funny is a better word). Except, again, if your last name is Oshie or Marvin.

This is usually given to a senior so I'd suspect Gardiner or Student would be two top candidates as would Tyler Barnes.
