A wrong 45 minute exit to Detroit? That's almost like saying a kid in Rochester could take the wrong exit and end up near North MPLS.

Because they're in the NW Suburban and I think they'd be a good fit for section 4 or 5. Obviously they were down this year, but playing that schedule should get them ready for AA. Don't get me wrong, I wish Breck would have made the jump too (section 2AA could have used them), but TG seems like the...

Really disappointing not seeing Totino move to AA. Why's that? They've been to state 5 times, twice in the last 10 years, have one Class A title 13 years ago and were the 5 seed in their section this year... Because they're in the NW Suburban and I think they'd be a good fit for section 4 or 5. Obv...

I would have loved to have seen the Jags knock off the Hornets the last couple of times they've met in sections. Unfortunately, I just don't think it's going to happen this year.

I'd be in favor of teams adding in games. A 30 game schedule seems to make sense, and for those teams that have budget/travel issues, they can play 25. It would probably only add another week to the season, as I'm sure most teams could factor in an additional 5 as is. I've always been in favor of ad...

I think that historically class A's top teams could always hang with the AA schools. I'd argue that within the last few years maybe only the top 3 teams could really compete, where as 10-15 years ago class A was significantly stronger.

Not my all-time favorite HS "hockey" memory, but a tourney related memory nevertheless...In 2008 when Hill-Murray won the tourney (I think it was '08, but I'm too lazy to fact check), I happened to witness one of the funniest things I've ever seen on live TV. Maybe some of you guys remembe...

Now that I have been scolded, I have to say, "what does it matter?" But I think what we need is a 'bored' ranking system.. We all put our two cents in and then average them out. Our resident rankers do a fine job, but the rest of us always feel they should be tweaked. Perhaps we need to b...

Highlights of the Centennial/Moorhead '04 final... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzZwIPdcjUo I played in Section 8AA during those great Moorhead teams of 04 and 05. They were a machine. I remember they beat Monticello in the playoffs that year 27-0! outshot them 100-11. It is really a shame that ...

Re: Maple Grove

What is going on in Maple Grove... They were the preseason favorite for the section and they have been a disaster so far! 11 goals allowed? I thought they were supposed to have an incredible tandem of goalies?!?! I am not trying to call anyone out in particular but what gives here? I have never see...

Curious about Maple Grove as I've followed the kids for a few years. Were they over rated, or simply not show up last week? I realize they played two good teams in WAY and EP, but losing to HF seems concerning A lot of youth there, especially on defense. Also took a lot of untimely penalties agains...

This article is so biased and subjective it’s nearly cringe worthy. Looking at one year of undergraduates’ performance in junior leagues is conclusive enough? I’ve always said kids should do what’s best for their own personal development, which doesn’t mean everyone should be put on the same plan. S...

Here's my list... Best 1. Jefferson - Not a fan of their new jerseys, though. They ruined a good thing when they got rid of the "Jaguars" script across the front. 2. Edina - Just a classic look. 3. Roseau - So clean. Such Tradition. Hard not to love it. 4. Duluth East - Big fan of that &qu...

Maple Grove 4 Elk River 2 FINAL Thoughts: While the sudden loss of Zerban probably hurt the Elks a bit offensively, as well as created an awkward feeling out stage as the lines get shaken up, I think this game came down to the goaltending more than anything. Shots were about even, power play time w...

True and I certainly wouldn't object, though if you count USHL preseason, you should also count HS preseason scrimmages and jamborees and such. Total tangent here, but I recall watching an East State Tourney DVD from 10-15 years ago in which they made reference to the significant number of in-seaso...

My issue is with your insane assertion that 27 more games in the USHL is going to make enough of a difference in his development that it is worth walking out on his team that has a good chance of experiencing a once in a lifetime event. If he gets a D1 scholarship, will he point to the extra 27 USH...

Well, here is the math: Fargo games remaining: 27 Minus the # of USHL games after the HS State Tourney, which Zerban could have played in if he stayed at ER: 10 Minus Elk River games remaining, should they go to state: 15 =a difference of 2 games. If Elky gets bounced in sections he could leave a w...
