Benilde High School Coaching
Does anyone know about the Benilde Girls Varsity coach? I understand he quit but does anyone have an idea why or who might be coming in for next year?

Re: showcase
I have a great idea lets have district tryouts for A teams. Each district runs a tryout for 8 district teams. These teams play each other and the other district teams. Now the kids playing in Wayzata that can make an A team on any other association can play A's. The B player at cooper is not forced ...

Re: bernie
I am not ripping Bernie. I am ripping people who hold Bernie in such high regard that they think he is going to take their 8 year old and turn them into a D-1 player.
Bernie's success was built on a team of players that were already the best in their class.
I have heard some really good thin...

Re: bernie
I might be mistaken but didn't Bernie create that 88 team when those kids were older 2nd year peewees and first year bantams. They only played together for a couple of years. Most of his team came from the blades and team minnesota. I'm fairly certain his son Jamie played on the blades a few years.<...

No I wouldn't.
If my kid is going to be good enough to make the pros I am not going to know that or even be able to prepare him for that at age 9. I think it would be better to try to prepare him to play H.S. first.

Your talking about top level 88 players at the bantam level not the squi...

Re: Two A Teams
Most people generally agree that the difference between the bottom A player and the top B player in lagre associations is barely noticable. So why not go smaller but more. Then you have 24 playing A instead of 15 and everyone gets more ice and they practice as one team so the costs are reduced and t...

Re: 93 and 94 Blades Roster Changes
You people are insane your talking about 9 and ten year old kids like everything will remain the same 5 years from now. The whole concept of the 96 machine is so insane I can't believe people pay thousands of dollars to participate. 2.5 hours of practice 4 days a week in the summer.

Minnesota doesn't send teams out there for the same reason you don't send teams to our tournaments. It is not cost affective.

For $500 dollars I can put together a group and skate all summer 2 or three times a week. it takes 3 things to play at the higher levels
1. good player
2. good kid
3 good parents
If one of those items is missing it will definetly reduce your chances of getting noticed. I sure the scouts realize this more then anyone.

Re: Don Lucia's U-8 development philosophy
Why is it that so many of the great hockey minds of Minnesota talk this talk but nobody listens? Jack Blatherwick has been preaching this stuff for decades. Still no changes are made. The brain trust of MN hockey is failing our elite players and allowing them to slip into mediocrity and they refuse ...

Yes Spencer Campion, captain and top defensemen, broke the bulbus part of his elbow off and had surgery to put it back into place last Saturday. This happened against Cretin. BSM has had some hard luck since coming back from NY.
