Re: 2024 HP 17 & 16 National Camp Invites
Aside from the McCracken snub at 16's I thought Liam Schultz (Ashton's little brother) deserved to go, he looked good all wknd. I have to think McCracken gets an at-large bid. The good thing about Minnesota sending 14 to NTDP camp is that it opened doors for a lot of really good players who may have...

Re: 2024 HP 17 & 16 National Camp Invites
Hard to believe Casey was not also taken as a 17 goalie. He was #1 last weekend followed closely by Conway . They were neck and neck last season as well. I guess they could only take one , very hard choice Ironic they both rotated in goal in the regular season , and will likely both rotate again ne...

Re: 2024 HP 17 & 16 National Camp Invites
For 16's the following kids have a waiver to national camp via making NTDP 40 man camp back in March: Dakotah Bailey - F - Gentry Academy Jimmy Egan - F - Mahtomedi Nate Pederson - F - Shakopee Nate Celski - D - White Bear Lake Kaenen Smith - G - Duluth Marshall Xavier Wendt - G - Shattuck St. Mary'...

Re: NTDP Eval Camp
Well, I wasn't too far off...Cullen, Plante, Nelson (Dads / Bros group), Trottier, Berchild, Lutner, Fransisco and Carrithers make the NTDP. I was surprised that Wendt wasn't offered given his resume the last year and a half.

Re: NTDP Eval Camp
One glaring omission is Cole Bumgarner out of Rogers, he was not offered a spot at NTDP evaluation camp and subsequently tendered with the Fargo Force last weekend. The other glaring omission in my opinion is Zac Zimmerman...kid lead Moorhead HS in scoring as a 9th grader but he was ultimately passe...

Re: NTDP Eval Camp
14 of the 47 kids chosen are from The State of Hockey, pretty impressive. As far as locks to make team I'd go with: Berchild, Fransisco and Trottier. 90% certainty: Wendt & Lutner Big Brother already being there always helps / Dad was NHL'er so good chance they make it connection: Plante, Nelson...

NTDP Eval Camp
I see the following MN 2008's have been invited to the USA Hockey NTDP Eval Camp next week: Forwards: Dakotah Bailey - Gentry Academy Mikey Berchild - SSM Prep Wyatt Cullen - Moorhead BAA Jimmy Egan - Mahtomedi Sammy Nelson - Maple Grove BAA Nathaniel Pederson - Shakopee Victor Plante - Hermantown (...

Re: 2023-24 Season Transfers
Not sure why you are yelling? Yes, I understand that he hadn't had any action yet, he's the 3rd goalie sitting behind a D1 commit. I am fairly certain it was explained to him how training, playing time, etc. would be scheduled out when he decided to sign with them and he agreed to it. He was going ...

Re: 2023-24 Season Transfers
Wesside, there's a lot of speculation there. I have a hard time believing he was going to get a lot of starts going forward when he hadn't had any to this point. If he stopped all the pucks, all bets are off and he'd get all of them. That's the nature of higher levels of hockey like Junior and coll...

Re: What’s going on in Tonka?
We all know how many of the players on last year’s Tonka boys state championship team played youth hockey in Tonka (not a lot, especially among the high end players). Apparently this is also now the norm with the girls teams as well. I’m told two of the four seniors on the Tonka girls varsity team ...

Re: 2023-24 Season Transfers
Not really a transfer per se...but Kam Hendrikson will be back in net for Chanhassen this winter. Good for Chan, good for MN HS hockey...but I think it's going to stunt his development as a goalie. Kid was scheduled to get 4-5 games this month with Chicago Steel in USHL, not sure how playing against...

Re: 2023-24 season Early departures
Right, but it's not like mid season or even months after school has started. This literally happens the week rosters were posted I believe... Seems a bit off to me. Yeah, a bit weird they only made it 3 weeks into school year. Lindsey probably did not see a path to Prep next season since he did not...

Re: 2023-24 season Early departures
Yes, or trying to get out… Correct, Dessner has left Shattuck Cayden Lindsey (10th grader, late 07) of Minnetonka has also left Shattuck You have to have a certain mindset to make it at Shattuck, it is not easy being away from home at a young age and it is not for everyone. Right, but it's not like...

Re: 2023-24 season Early departures
I heard an interesting rumor that only days after the Shattuck roster was posted, Dessner was out. Was the extreme heat causing hallucinations or can someone set me straight? Out as in he’s no longer there? Yes, or trying to get out… Correct, Dessner has left Shattuck Cayden Lindsey (10th grader, l...

Re: Summer HS varsity festival schedules
Caught a few games in Proctor this past weekend, and got reports from others (not many scores, more just thoughts on how teams looked). Notes on a few teams, with all the usual summer hockey asterisks about teams missing players: Mahtomedi - Despite graduating a lot off of last season's surprise st...

Re: Summer HS varsity festival schedules
Thanks Rails! Getting Duluth East, STA (Randolph factor), Cloquet & Benilde to all leave the BIG Metro HS Tournament is some huge gets and very nice work good to see some variety on the last weekend of STP. Benilde has been going up to Duluth for a few years now. I see in addition to losing Ste...

Re: Summer HS varsity festival schedules
Correction on the name above. It is the Proctor Rails Summer Fest. Most games in Proctor and we are thankful to Hermantown for hosting the overflow. The organizers have done a great job building this over the last few years. Impressive group of teams all in one place in July. If it keeps getting bi...

Re: 2023 Elite League Rosters
Way too many 9th & 10th graders for my liking. They can go play u16, etc. in the fall and not take spots from more deserving juniors or seniors.
