Re: 7AA 2020-2021

Andover is going to rule 7AA again next winter with their depth. No team will have their quality depth top to bottom. It seems Duluth East will be all sophomores and a couple 8th graders with the talent. Rapids won’t be deep and no returning netminder. Elk has numbers and new rink next winter. Not ...

USHL Futures Draft May 4th

Typically I’m not paying much attention to these sorts of things but not much else to do Hockey wise nowadays!! Any thoughts on who from Minnesota in the 2004 birth year gets picked? Thoughts?

Re: 7AA 2020-2021

Grand Rapids Andover Duluth East Elk River Cloquet Forest Lake Anoka Marshall I am not suggesting that any team moves up or down from your list, just adding some perspective for conversation sake. Grand Rapids 15 players returning 147 total points (2020 Bant AA final rank #31) Andover 4 players ret...

Re: 7AA 2020-2021

Duluth East will have 7 very talented sophomores on their roster next year. I’m thinking 2extremely talented and large 8th graders, as well. Very young team next year, but I think they will be much more talented and deeper and confident then they were this year. I think any one of three teams will ...

Let's stop acting like the MSHSL makes decisions based on "what's good for kids".

Re: 7AA FINALS

But both teams chose to play the game at Amsoil. They both had the chance to decline and find a rink in the merto. I believe part of the issue is, if the schools wanted a change, they had to pay for it...is that correct? Most school districts would have a hard time justifying that cost, if that is ...

Re: 7AA FINALS

I don’t see how anyone could/should be criticized by not driving 2+ hours each way on a school night and I would guess if it was the other way around (two northern teams having to travel the same distance to play in the metro) the attendance would be far smaller as well. This is a difference in the...

Re: 7AA FINALS

Congrats to Andover and good luck at state!! I know you will represent 7AA well in St. Paul. How can anyone be surprised at the attendance? Anyone should have seen the low attendance coming from a mile away especially the MSHSL. I have no issue whatsoever with the section semi final/final being hel...

Re: 7AA FINALS

Talked to an ER parent who brought up a good point (why ER preferred to play the final at Amsoil). The TV timeouts☝️...ER isn’t as deep of a team, so the TV timeouts will likely be helpful & if the game was played at a Twin Cities venue, WDIO may not have televised the game. I don’t know, man. Soun...

Re: 7AA 2019-2020

Don’t quite understand this , they both have jinxes up there , Elk with more https://mobile.twitter.com/zschneider218/status/1232010196852957189 My understanding is Fogerty is booked Thursday night with some sort of Junior game...and there really isn’t any other North metro rink with enough seating...

Re: 7AA 2019-2020

I think Andover wins Thursday but I have doubted Elk River before, I also think both teams make it back to the final again next year also. Really? Elk River loses Humphrey, Michaelis and Koziol among their 7 seniors, but with the majority of their roster returning, they will at least be seasoned. H...

Re: 7AA Semifinal II: Elk River vs Grand Rapids

Grand Rapids got robbed on a score. Replay clearly showed it was in., but whistle blew & that's it. ER empty netter so it's 3-1 ER final. Sad. Does anyone have a video link for said controversial goal? Can it be found anywhere? Video in the rink does not have sound so we don't know when the whistle...

Re: 7AA Semifinal II: Elk River vs Grand Rapids

Mnmouth, I totally agree with your view, It had to be one of the most disappointing showings I have seen all year by this team, my first impression was the group never got off the bus and they weren't even in the game. The defense was not playing the way they had all year. The seniors weren't steppi...
