Re: MSHSL Oct 1st Meeting (Boys Hockey Season Fate)

Winter Prep Season Could Grow to Accommodate for COVID-19 The upcoming high school winter sports season could be longer than originally planned if the Minnesota State High School League follows the likely recommendations of a task force it commissioned to set start and end dates for those sports. A...

Re: MSHSL Oct 1st Meeting (Boys Hockey Season Fate)

Class A Guru Guy: I think you know more than your willing to come out and say. :-k I have spoken to a source who is not on the committee but very close to it. Said hockey is like every other sport so they will see a cut in weeks and games like every other sport. My source said 18 only but also said...

MSHSL Oct 1st Meeting (Boys Hockey Season Fate)

Well folks since March we have been debating. I think we all know now there will be a season announced on Thursday but how much will be changed and made different. Love the ideas of the 2 proposals from MHCA but we know those are a way of asking for a lot to hopefully not get it all cut I think we a...

Re: No State Tournament at the X this Spring....

I think we all need to be realistic on this topic. First off, I love the idea that the MN Boys Hockey Coaches Association is putting forth. Do I think they will get their desired Nov. 9th start on time. I would say its almost a 100 % NO. - Reason 1 FOOTBALL... Every Football team in their last week ...

Re: 6A 2020-2021 season

I'll never count SCC out. But this year would be Little Falls' best chance to win the section in awhile. I was impressed with the Otter's improvement over last season. They should be a player this year. Anyone know what River Lakes has coming back? They've been giving the Flyers fits the last sever...

Re: No State Tournament at the X this Spring....

The 4 fall sports that started in August had no postseason plan when they were allowed to move forward on August 4th. During today’s meeting they at least now have a format for section play that will start in about 3 weeks. The MSHSL hasn’t made a decision on what football and volleyball postseason...

Today's ruling is bad news in regards to why I made this thread. Football, Volleyball, Soccer, Swimming and Cross COuntry only doing a "Two Week' Sectional to conclude season.... The State Tournament at the X the crown jewel of our sport looking even LESS likely today.... Hockey will be 18 games an...

Re: No State Tournament at the X this Spring....

Lots of moving parts. Some food for thought. If the MSHSL season started late, wouldn’t a school contract reflect the reduced season duration thus the coach is not being paid? Why would a coach need to resign HD position to coach MN Hockey if the MSHSL season hadn’t started? How is this different f...

2A 2020-2021 Season

Going to be a very deep Section Delano- Looks to be the favorite they bring back Brown, Paulson, Keranen and more. They just need a goalie Delano after Mahtomedi's breakthrough last year is the next blue blood in Class A lacking a title. This Tiger team will look to be the first to try and break the...

Thanks for Starting this Elliott- Early Insight- The favorite is Little Falls return almost everyone from a 20 win team and the key is 3 years starter Couture in the Net. Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?

I think at this rate we can all assume there will be a shortened year.

Bigger questions how many games will be cut?

Will it be reduced to local travel like soccer?

Will MN hockey pick up the rest will those count as scrimmages?

Will there be a post season beyond localized sectional play ?
