Re: The 2021 Goalie Thread

Great work. I am also a goalie stat nerd. GA needs to be replaced with GAA to be meaningful. Just like saves doesn't paint the picture the same way Save % does. There is way too big of a minutes played spread to use Goals Allowed as a stat. Timmons has 1393 minutes played compared to Syverson at 246...

Click on the link then click on the video and you will see a news story about mshsl. it has lots of hockey clips and talks to Joe Miller from Blake about how he is going to bypass his senior year because of the uncertainty surrounding high school hockey

Re: covid and MH

So now the many get to continue to pay and sacrifice for the few... Just tack on another 1,2,3 TRILLION in debt to tide us all over while we tell each other to "be safe out there." Such an easy answer for so many... Let's add national debt to the mounting pile of negatives with shutdowns for the few...

Re: "Before and After"

It is my understanding after the conversation with the athletic director that the requirement has to do with the federal funds that the School receives for each student enrolled and that is a requirement. Something like $8,000 per student...

Re: "Before and After"

That is my point. Many posts and the guys on the podcast think these players are just going to decide at the last minute what they are going to do. This is an arduous requirement and can't be considered haphazardly. For these kids who are off in Omaha or Lincoln or Chicago, Etc... it will not be eas...

"Before and After"

So many previous and current posts keep mentioning "before and after" as an option for our star players this year (and previous years). Even the fellas over on the YHH podcast seem to throw this option around quite lightly. Seems to me that many posters to this forum and the YHH guys are under the i...

I think there might big big surprise news that sort of comes out of nowhere.
How about a shocker announcement about outdoor rinks and games?
Just throwing it out there.

Re: 2020 Elite League rosters

I hope they find a way to allow scouts in. The league touts their record of drawing scouts to watch and the players want to be seen. Black Bauer/CCM coats and notepads are what the players want to see in the building (and some puck bunnies too but that only happens in the school season).

Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?

MSHSL needs to hurry. USHL and NAHL teams have players reporting to camp in the first two weeks of September. Selfish to drag this out then shut it down on kids who could have played elsewhere.

Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?

I am now heading into week 6 for my beer league play and almost everything is the same as February. We go in the building with a mask on. Most guys take them off in the locker room. We play the game just like before, guys on the same bench breathing hard, etc. We don't shake hands afterwards... They...

Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?

What does the group think the impact would be on a complete free-for-all for where a kid would play or if it was tied to some geographic boundary (supposedly like it is now) what would the private schools do who don't have a geographic border?

Re: MSHSL moves football to spring

Clearly some people posting here do not have a teenager at home. These kids are done with it. Parties are happening, going to the cabin or lake, etc. All with not a mask in sight and zero social distancing. This is not about those scary hockey kids coming to your school and getting your kid sick. Th...

Old Man (jury still out on wise), I am honestly and truly sorry for you. I'm sure you believe what you are saying. Therefore you must be very sad and scared for yourself, your loved ones, and the world. I see manipulated numbers. The deaths are full of "probable" and "died with". I saw the focus sta...

This is all such BS. Nothing but fear mongering, dictating, and controlling. And the Junior leagues will go on, maybe start later. Elite League looks like a go for now with tryouts planned not sure where they go from here.
Since about half of the players are picked and protected before tryouts...it is my understanding that there will not be tryouts. Just invites.

Crazy: I am happy for Alberta, but I think you miss my point. Minnesota doesn't have any laws laying out the guidelines. Nor do most of these states or Providences. They are executive orders. The one state that has legally challenged the authority of the Governor, Wisconsin, is completely open beca...
