Re: Games Friday 12-10
I knew I would get a good reaction out of one of you goat fans LOL. Still doesn’t change the fact about the reffing issues when playing in Roseau...been going on for years! So are you sticking by your statement or no? Like I said sore loser post. The Roseau PP was sandwiched between 2 Rapids PP’s. ...

Re: Games Friday 12-10
Proven once again tonight, that you get the worst homer reffing in the state when playing at Roseau. Rapids was up 3-1 going into the third when the refs decided they were not going to let Rapids leave Memorial Arena with a W. They called a 5 minute major on Rapids with six minutes left, followed b...

Re: The Gentry Academy Thread
In the spirit of "adapting" and getting creative with solutions to compete with some of these super programs why don't more small programs follow the Rock Ridge model. They don't actually have to combine schools like that, but just for certain sports (keep the youth programs separate too)...

Furuseth? I am not exactly sure he counts as a NoDak kid. Most of his youth hockey that I know of was played in MN, Roseau and Rosemount.

Re: Section 7AA Final - Andover vs Grand Rapids
I thought the writing was on the wall when Rapids couldn't convert on their three PPs in the first period. Offensive firepower was always this team's Achilles Heel, and when they didn't take the early chances they got, it spelled trouble. Garrett Schifsky was the difference-maker, along with Will L...

Re: Section 8AA seedings
Roseau also has 4 losses. Three of which were when they were down their top 2 goaltenders and none of them really that bad. Their wins are also better. As far as schedule difficulty I’ll say 2 games versus Rapids is equal to Maple Grove and Andover (2 games with number 3 vs a game with number 1 and ...

Re: Section 8AA seedings
I agree on Roseau being #1, but with their remaining schedules Rogers is unlikely to lose again and Roseau has a couple of challenging games vs GR and EGF. If Roseau wins either of those then I think they are obvious #1 seed, but if they drop both of those games, which would be understandable, then...

Re: The Hermantown Thread
So if Hermantown opts up do you feel like they should stay in A? I am not sure that the other city teams that I think you are referencing (Cathedral and Mahtomedi, or really any city team left in A) will be good enough to convince them that they can't win it all. Is there another team in A that is s...

Re: The Hermantown Thread
Your replies are hard to pick out of the last post, so I pasted them into this one with responses. 7TC: Did I say I was quoting you? What I was saying is that it seems like they are happy with the class A experience. I have never met anyone that is ashamed of their state championships because they ...

Re: The Hermantown Thread
Funny thing is I never hear Warroad or EGF people telling me they wish they were AA or had been. And if everyone agreeed with you I don’t know why they would be A still. Is somebody getting in the way? It's obvious now that what I say and what your hear are two very different things. I said I've ne...

Re: The Hermantown Thread
I am just telling you how it is. People don’t see it the way you do. They don’t see it as an A and B tournament like you are trying to make it. And as far as EGF I am aware, but the road to the section final is far different, so is the state tournament itself and they know that. If you haven’t heard...

Re: The Hermantown Thread
The other one that comes to mind is Hermantown can’t even beat teams like Alexandria and Greenway. Do we really think they could win 7AA or a AA championship? Remember just cherry pick a result from the playoffs and ignore everything else.

Re: The Hermantown Thread
I have considered that they may win. But it is a much tougher road and I guarantee if you ask them if they want to be a shoe in for the semi finals at the class A tournament and potentially win it all or risk being beat in sections by a couple of other teams that will be top 10 AA they will chose th...

Re: The Hermantown Thread
I am not referencing Hermantown as I think they should want to move up. But you are always quick to draw the line, on several programs, not just Hermantown. Which I think is easy to say when it isn't you, your kid, your program. If they were to move up and get beat in sections there will be a lot of...

Re: The Hermantown Thread
I am just not convinced that the class A tournament will ever get to a point where there aren't blowouts. How do you do that? There is just so much variablilty in class A. Rain what are your thoughts on what Warroad should do? They are going to be absolutely stacked in a couple of years. Their banta...

Re: covid and MH
A thought related to WM's post above. The average nursing home stay is a little over 2 years. With over 2/3 of the deaths in MN occurring in nursing homes it has me doing a bit of wondering. If we see approx 2000 excess deaths this year (with most of those in nursing homes) after this population has...

Mandatory bubble mask with Bauer insert (or other similar brand) and 11 person rosters. I have seen smaller communities play with rosters like this for years (as a bonus nobody complains about ice time). 5 people on the bench at a time should provide adequate spacing and the face shields should have...

First, I didn’t realize that five paragraphs constituted a “novel”. Next, I usually reread my posts before I hit send and the last one literally took me 5 minutes to read. And no, I’m not a speed reader. So, if spending 5 minutes to read something about a controversial topic is asking so muc...
