CM is a great player... some say once in a generation... upstaged on his senior year victory lap, as GH leads his team to the hockey promised land. That's how it looked from the "JV arm chair." (your insult attempt was pathetic by the way)

Like someone said could be last time with whole team with him leaving for GB. Also he did it last year so he would know if it was worth it to him. I think you nailed it!!! After reading all the posts about treating an injury, and the last team bus ride nonsense, I think you've got it. It is what it...

I could see a Jeff Foxworthy act based on the criteria for A vs. AA.

"If your coach also drives the team bus...you might be..."

*only chuckling at my own roots here BTW.

Let them go for a title with an *, but don't pretend they are a small struggling community. Have you been to Monti? Seen their HS? Seen the growth? Enrollment...losing players...cycles of talent... What program doesn't have them? They need to man up for their programs sake, and quit playing the vict...

David Wilkie is a great coach If true they would be a team of Omaha/Council Bluffs/Lincoln players. None of the top tier one programs has only local players. If anything, the fact that good players are willing to move to Nebraska indicates he is a great coach. He's turned it into a top-5 program. T...

Not saying these three are bad players just by no means "horses" maybe if I viewed the world though your rose colored glasses I would see it.... but I do not. . Good thing you straightened that out. I now see these as very average players. Thanks Glad we are on the same page now. We aren'...

Yep  Not sure why you'd be a hater. The Minnesota high school hockey model has its cons for sure. I love MN HS hockey, but it is in an ivory tower. Do a little research and you'll see that this program (and others like it) will continue to prep elite players that thrive at the next level. ...

[quote="HSHockeyFan08"]Here is what I know.. Tryouts for the Section teams are picked by the coaching staffs. There are usually 4-5 coaching staffs that have a heavy presence in the evaluations which in turn results in more players making the roster. I would say there are 7-10 locks going ...

Two kids get cut, kid A sulks about it and does nothing to improve and his parents whine on a hockey forum about the injustice and the corrupt system and tell him/her it was the system to blame. Kid B learns from it and works harder to improve everyday and parents understand and support his/her gro...

I think Elliott70 said it best when this exact subject came up last year I have questions... Where do you people get your information? How do you know it is a lock for some kids? Why do you think it is a money grab? How do you know the thought process of the evaluators? Why do you make such a fuss ...

I think we all know there is limits to the process and time is one of them, but publishing ranking is easy. Everyone knows where they stand and/or stood. Being transparent also forces you to have to rank the section manager's kid too, and not hide behind the old timers with clip boards.

IF the players are evaluated individually, the odds are still low that section 5 only sends one skater to the 54. There should be individual feedback, or better yet straight up publish a ranking after the festivals. I suspect they come in with ranking at the start. These are big boys they can handle...

For the HP 16/17 this program is run by the HS Coaches. The supposed mission is to identify the best players unfortunately that does not appear to happen. Ironically their own and friends seem to advance. Time to make a change. Just what we need... HS coaches with more power. There is no where to e...

I know I'm late on this, but I felt I should say it anyway. Going to the State Tournament, or winning it is a dream for any kid growing up playing hockey in Minnesota, and most kids are lucky to even get one chance at either of them. Kids spend their whole life working up to that moment, and if the...

Re: EP Medals

It would have been nice to see some EP players show more class accepting their 2nd place medals. Middlestat and a few others removed their medals showing disrespect after the presenter put the medal around their necks. Second Place Mittelstadt acts like he's 17. Lucky for him he is. Let's hope he m...

Speaking of medals the MSHSL made a huge mistake or GR will have some explaining to do by having the suspended player on the ice for the awards ceremony. I think it's fine Klatt gives the kid his medal but do it in the locker room. May be Nuts but I'll predict head coach will be sitting out the fir...
