Was the series titled, "Hometown Heroes"? Trying to find any of the episodes on YT but nothing yet.

Thanks
It is finished. Last one was last Sunday. Good series, lots of Minnesota folks in it.

Re: Section 8AA Class AA 20-21

I wouldn't be surprised if Rogers ends up with the 2 seed going into sections next year. They had a top 2 Bantam AA team this past year and there goalie was named Goaltender of the year by YHH. Roseau in my mind is the favorite coming out of section 8. Only losing 7 from this year’s runner up team.

Re: Greatest Games That Never Were

This seems like a fitting topic given our lack of sports right now. Which games do you wish would have happened, but never did? For example, Lakeville North vs. Edina in 2015: two-time defending state champ versus the undefeated #1. I realize they did play in the regular season, but that would've b...

Re: Why high school sports

There's so much passion and pride. Also, it's generally when athletes start to "get it". You still have situations where one person can single handedly take over a game, but for the most part, teams start paying within their system. This part, definitely, along with the obvious passion and pride. E...

Re: Biggest Tourney upsets

The 1980 final with Grand Rapids and Hill Murray should be up there too. Hill was undefeated going into the final and lost 2-1, despite outshooting Rapids 32-16. To be honest, it was one of those upsets that still keeps a guy up at night. #-o  Rapids had Hill’s number in Hill’s early years in ...

Re: Fun With the Transitive Property!

Not sure what the rules are, like if a team has to win the season series or if the rankings have to be sequential or if they all have to be in-state, but I found an extremely convoluted way to get the one-win Austin team to the top! Hill-Murray lost to... White Bear Lake who lost to... Irondale who...

His uncle & dad, Mark & Mike, went to WI. They wanted to play together, and the Gophs would only take Mark. I remember that. I can't recall if they had offers going into the tourney or not. But I recall Gophers only offered Mark. I think this is a smart move by Motzko. Because Charlie is the type o...

Re: AA Championship: Hill Murray v Eden Prairie

Thanks. I went to high school at Sibley, before it was Henry Sibley, class of ‘61. Went to my first hockey game when I was a sophomore. We were playing S St Paul who had this freshman by the name of Woog, and we got our butts handed to us something like 8-0. I think he scored half the goals. I witne...

Re: 3 Privates & EP walk into a pub

I want to watch skilled hockey. I'm a h.s. hockey fan and attended my first tournament in 1972. I can no longer attend them so I will take the time to watch and appreciate what hockey means in Minnesota. This a showcase event I don't care if there are no true Davids left in the AA tournament. Grand...

Re: 3 Privates & EP walk into a pub

I'll be at Mariucci instead with 100 other people. But, better than watching two games where the public doesn't care to even pick a side. Gonna be a snoozefest relative to most Friday nights. I have been to a few Blake games this year and they are far from snooze fests. There was a David in the 197...

Re: AA tournament not a state tournament?

I have often wondered if the tournament would be as big as it is today if the high school league would have put northern schools in with the twin cities schools because they needed to have the best teams in the state in the state tournament. The teams would have looked something like this the first ...

One running time game and very possible a couple more coming up, which unfortunately has become the norm in Class A on Wednesday. Any thoughts on anything the MSHSL can do? Just not the way you want to start the tournament every year. Here is a totally outside the box idea: (someone had suggested t...

How about we look at state tourney appearances over 15 year span? Consecutive championship games?

Someone see if we can get a list going on this.
Int Falls was in five straight finals 62-66, losing in 63 to St Paul Johnson in OT.

Privates in Tournament

First time in the history of this great event we have three private schools. We’ve had two several times and also a couple of all-private finals.
