Re: covid and MH
When I was 8, my friends at school told me there was no such thing as Santa Claus My parents told me they were just lying The Facts were: I saw him at the mall and on Christmas day there were a bunch of presents lying around the fireplace So there must be a Santa Claus right? For the love of god can...

Goldy you are 1000% correct We all become products of the sources we read and watch (CNN, Fox, CNBC...Star Tribune, Trumps twitter account and yes even Facebook)...For every article written by a medical expert that we should shut down the world, there's another article written by a expert saying jus...

Question for the experts with all this scientific data....The flu and Covid are totally different correct? okay...so First question ......Last year (2019), how many people died from the "flu"? What percentage of them fell in each age group (the same age groupings we now track with Covid) Second ques...

Sid Hartmans son Chad Hartman: “I want to make it clear — he didn’t die from COVID — but COVID took away the enjoyment from his life by making him stay home,” his son said later. “It took away the chance to see the people he liked. It took away his zest, not being able to go four, five different pla...

Re: MSHSL Oct 1st Meeting (Boys Hockey Season Fate)
This may be to late but I think every high school hockey team should strongly consider doing the Bridge Season
It would send a clear and concise message to MSHSL that if you continue to sit on your hands, the hockey community will respond

Re: Association not allowing privates on top teams
Back to the original post Typically Bantam tryouts are a month ahead of High School ones so isn't this kind of a moot point? or is the originator of the post thinking after a kid makes a the Stillwater Bantam AA team and goes and tries out for Hill Murray varsity team and doesn't make it should he s...

Re: People wanting to stay A... about single A teams recruiting
So what is the bigger problem Class A schools playing mainly a Class AA schedule all year then dropping down to class A ? Or Class AA schools that mainly play a Class A schedule throughout the year? Personally I think the rule should be "if you want to play up, be my guest. But you can't play down" ...

Re: Ideas that should be brought to the Minnesota Hockey Board
Puck8 I like a lot of your ideas...especially going to two halves As far as the icing....I'm all in favor of banning icing all together at the squirt level. Keep the kids moving/hustling THE ONLY reason changing the icing and offsides rule may not work is sometimes a whistle is the only way to get s...

Re: One Change to the Playoffs/State Tournament
I would love to see a 32 team playoff (No Classes)
First couple rounds would be held in historic arena's throughout the state (Friday/Saturday games until you get to 8 teams)
I would make sure NO games are played on Olympic size rinks

Re: Jackson Blake
Are the public schools doing a better job of recruiting than the private schools? Think of it this way....It could be similar to that of college hockey... The colleges today that seem to be enjoying the most success are the ones patiently waiting to offer scholarships...Meanwhile other schools (like...

Re: Final Cuts
The biggest thing I've seen over the last several years is the lack of empathy some coaches (and many parents) have shown towards these kids getting cut For so many kids, it's truly the first time they didn't "make it" High School is stressful enough and to toss this at these young kids sure puts mo...

Re: Might be an ugly season...
I think you may be confusing what I am trying to say (and that may be my fault) I'm not saying the reffing is BAD...I'm say they (whoever they may be...Districts, MN Hockey, USA Hockey) are most likely asking the refs to call the game a little tighter...What use to be a good solid, body on body chec...

Re: Might be an ugly season...
I've said it before..Nowadays parents/kids are so wrapped up in Skill they forget that if you can't compete you probably won't last long at the next level. The problem is refs, (ie MN Hockey/USA Hockey), is slowly taking the physical side of this sport out of the game. I see way to many whistles whe...

Re: University of St Thomas
Attendance is a great topic as it pertains to St Thomas possibly going D-1 On one hand you have schools like ASU playing in front of 400 people and the U of MN playing in a arena half full. My guess is St Thomas would struggle to draw in the casual Metro area hockey fan. Just to much competition in ...

Re: Bantams vs. High School
My personal view on this... I like a forward to practice more puck possession the younger they are...Puck on stick, time and space to make the right decision. Repetition...over and over and over I think this is a little more important than playing to a faster speed.. I think speed is easier to learn...

There is no right or wrong answer but if you told me I was in charge of making the decision I would say take your time and stay at Bantams Bantams 45-55 games You're kid is probably on the PP and top 6 (maybe top 3) weekend tournaments (the last you'll probably experience this) Lots of free press fr...

He will be an early early first round draft choice...That's a given Aside from that, we must all admit hockey is really no longer a contact sport. I see more hitting in a non checking pee wee game then I do some USHL games. Imagine 5-10 years ago a team going down 3-1 or 4-1....Coach calls a timeout...

Re: 2019 Elite League Rosters
I think picking ONE all star team would prove to be HIGHLY political and the results may actually be the same.... If you opened it up to every kid, how would you pick a "fair" team? Would you have the kids vote for the team(s)? The coaches? The scouts? How do you propose taking the politics out of t...

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season
Do we know how many times since #7 was added has the High School league still said NO (even after both AD's signed off on it)? To me, once they added in #7 the flood gates are now wide open....A good number of AD's could care less about hockey and will sign a piece of paper for any family wanting to...
