Re: Week 6 games

https://www.mngirlshockeyhub.com/game/show/29879283?subseason=697635&referrer=5878509  Saw this goalie play Blake 2 seasons ago (at Fogerty) and was impressed by her as an 8th grader. She is having a great season and appears to just get better and better. Great for her and Blaine. HUGE win ag...

Re: BSM/Tonka

Would be great to hear about the Tonka/EP game too. I was surprised that it ended in a 1-1 tie.

At least on paper it looks like a bad outcome for Tonka and a great one for EP.

Re: Media coverage of girls hockey

https://womenscollegehockey.org/ This appears to be the new home of the league wide content from Bulldog Pipeline. From recruiting to NCAA updates to weekend wraps on all the games...at least at the D1 level right now but am guessing that more D3 content would show up in a non pandemic affected seas...

Re: Week 3 game of the week

Andover outscoring opponents 48-1 after first 5 games...wow. Only notable opponent in #6 Maple Grove (who they beat 7-0, shots 48-14). Edina outscoring opponents 35-3 after first 5 games. 2 notable opponents, #10 Holy Family (beat them 8-0, shots 56-22) and unranked Blake (won 6-3 w/eng, shots were ...

Re: Week 3 game of the week

Will be interesting to see how the HF/Edina plays out. After games against Orono, Gentry and New Prague, the Hornets should be a step up in competition for the Fire. This may be a case of my missing some sarcasm on your part, but I predict... that will not be interesting. Edina will smoke HF. We ha...

Re: Week 3 game of the week

[Blake scoring 3 against Edina/Uma with a shot difference of only 38-24 no doubt caught some people by surprise. Edina is very strong, but a huge portion of their offense goes through Conner. She is a fantastic hockey player. I believe that 2 of the Blake were on the power play. This years team alr...

Re: My kid wants to play in college...how does it work and what should I be doing now to help...

I am sure that there are many kids and parents that are concerned about Covid and the recruiting environment. I know that I had concerns about my kid when she was going thru the process and now am having concerns about another kid in another sport and this at a minimum 13 month dead period from Divi...

Re: Game of the Week

I expect Breck to be in the Section Semi again this year and am excited to see how Chisago Lakes does against them this week and again in Sections. My bet would be on Breck continuing its dominance but will be fun to see them challenged... Breck has lost arguably their 2 most significant players the...

Re: Mask recommendations?

My kid vacillates between the old school medical mask and the one that connects in her helmet. Definitely hard at times to see the puck at your feet thru the attached face shield but she sort of got used to it. Bauer also gave the team a bunch of their reversible cloth masks as they are a Bauer scho...

A great blog to visit on a regular basis...Grant Kimball Asst Coach at Yale

If you are interested in D1 college hockey this year this blog is a great follow for up to date games that will be televised (even if online) and has great recaps with highlights and more. The best spot for one-stop coverage before and after every hockey weekend this season. If your kid has ANY inte...

Re: Early Departures 2020-2021

It may have been posted prior to me but it is a combo platter of not so great in JR land. 1. I believe that due to storms 2 USHL teams not playing this season. The Madison Caps are due to Covid and the Waterloo team had their rink destroyed by storms. Both rosters have moved somewhere else which the...

Re: Transfers 20-21

I am interested in knowing what a "cutting edge HS coach" does that makes him/her cutting edge? I would not say that recruiting (as in recruiting players to your program) makes you cutting edge (that seems to be the kids and parents job) and could/should get ugly if the coach is involved at all in t...

Re: Elite league

To the surprise of probably very few, the out of state teams are really really struggling against the locals. Philly has managed a 2-2 tie against Tradition White (U19). The three games at the U16 level for MSP teams have gone 7-1, 8-1, and 12-1. Thanks for the update 88. Anyone seeing any MN girls...

I hope you don’t mean Randy? My kid would run through a paper sign at the start of a football game for him. Hockey Day MN reruns on Saturdays (talkin bout mostly girls games...)

Has anyone been watching the Hockey Day MN reruns on FSN the last couple of Saturdays? I record them on DVR and then can fast forward if the games are not that interesting (like one a couple of weeks back with Stillwater & Tonka (I think). Discuss anything you want about these games. I will start: T...

Re: Quarantined training...what are people doing with no rinks open?!?

Heard from a friend that his daughter (and her summer squad) skated last week at Dakotah Ice Arena. They had some rules set up about entering/leaving the arena (zero loitering and home dressing) and no parents were allowed in. A very socially distant/aware practice of mostly individual skills work w...

Re: Quarantined training...what are people doing with no rinks open?!?

Lifetime Fitness has some pretty awesome FREE virtual classes...from strength to yoga...most hockey players I know (like my kid) would benefit by being more flexible...the yoga could be a great add on to other options 2x/week.
