No, the father and son did not have to play for the same high school.

Minor scuffle indeed. Next test for Blake is with the defending State Champions (Minnetonka looks awfully good).

Section 2A

#4 Blake over #5 Minneapolis in a 2 goal game #2 Breck over #3 Orono by 2-4 goals #1 Delano #1 over #4 Blake by 4-5 goals #1 Delano and #2 Breck in a dandy! Take your pick on this one. Breck has the better D corps and depth up front. Delano has the better goalie and lethal top line. Breck will outsh...

Timing of Loss

Suggested three weeks ago that BSM would lose in Sections. Bad timing. Thought it would be Wayzata that delivered the elimination blow. Great team effort CDH!

Section 2AA

Ridingthepine, do not leave out Prior Lake from your discussion of hopefuls. They have a good shot of winning the Section! Food for thought: goalies play a major role in winning playoff hockey games and the Lakers, Skips and Fire all have excellent goaltending. This section will be a battle royal an...

Delano looks good. Greenway and SPA too high. TRF, Cath and Blake in the right spots. Strength of schedule. It is a factor.

Class A Rankings

Great assessment of teams. I wouldn't change the order at all. Agree, Hermantown deserves the top spot until they stumble. Hermantown and Breck are the top two teams and could challenge for the state championship of Class AA. It would be a good year to have the champions of Class A and AA play for t...

College Ready?

Having served as a D1 college talent evaluator for 10 years, there is a lot more that goes into grading a player's contribution to a program than his point production.

It is not how many losses they have at the end of the season, it is when the key loss will come (Section 6 playoffs).

Deepest Section in Class A

No doubt 2A is the deepest section based on schedule and performance thus far. Breck, Delano, Orono, Blake, Minneapolis and New Prague have all played legitimate schedules and performed very well.

Class A: Hermantown and Breck, with deep and talented teams, will prove to be the best in Class 1A. Their defensemen are as good as any in the state, regardless of Class A or AA. Both teams can survive any injuries that might occur. Their goalies will come along as season progresses, but will rarely...

6AA

Hopkins has shown that they can compete against all Section 6AA teams. That would be 6 teams capable of earning the bid to St. paul.
