you would have to favor Edina but STA matches up against Edina better than they did against East

Re: AA QF: #5 Duluth East vs. #4 St. Thomas Academy

dear hockey watcher, would you care to name all the Wisconsin kids who have or are playing for STA. To my knowledge there has been one in the 100 years the school has been around.

Re: Private School Top 10 for 2018-19

Don't know how Conrad can make the leap in logic that the Vannelli's don't coach a team concept because they lost the first game in the state tourney the last couple of years. Granted it was disappointing and the consolation trophy was not their objective , but not coaching a team concept????

the Gold matchups could be better but its laughable that STA can lose 2 first round games in the Tourney and win the next 2 games each time and somehow they are outcoached, I wonder if any other coach have lost 2 first round games?

I would love it if STA played sections at Aldrich instead of Ridder, but I repeat my question asked on a different thread , Is HM the only school in the state that gets to play their sections in their home rink? maybe there are others and this is not an unusual advantage ,but I don't know of others

Its hard to see STA not coming thru in this game, they are playing well right now, my only worry is that they play a number of sophomores, and sometimes sophomores do not have the sense of urgency that seniors do.

rating coaches

I know it is hard to rate coaches because each team is so different. Randolph would have to be up there. But I still maintain that Tom Vannelli gets overlooked in this type of conversation. His teams play very fundamentally sound hockey and an exciting style to watch.Power Play and Penalty kill are ...

the whole point is on this subject either we go by enrollment or dominance at the A level, people were howling and rightfully so at STA now we have apologists like Duluth Dave for hermnatown ,whats it going to be Dave. STA has around 425 boys in their top 4 grades so the equivilent of 850 enrollment...

completely agree with the previous post, Plante invented whinning, if domination and not enrollment is the measure than they should have moved up long ago, can't believe how he bitched about STA but rationalizes everything is ok for Hermantown

The Exiled One had it exactly right LN would do very well in AAA Midget MOST of the time Schattuck would beat them because of age and depth but not always, STA did beat the Prep team a couple of years ago. We should be very proud of our hockey system in minnesota we produce very good local teams ans...

guys I was just kidding with the Lake Placid comment (doesn't seem to be much of a sense of humor here) this should be a good game if STA gets their PP chances they could pull away if not a 1 goal game but still like STA 5-2
