I think knights14 is itsfoilcoach. Haven't heard from itsfoilciach after getting called out for ripping on Corkish for not taking a team to state and now knights14 shows up ripping on Pohl for not making a state tourney. Hmmm??Really??? You wonder why good coaches quit. Wait, I thought MNHock and I...

At this point, I need to pose the question - WHY. Rip on the coaches. Check. Rip on the MSHSL and private schools. Check. Rip on talented student athletes and their families for making decisions different from yours. Check. Rip on MN Hockey and both association and tier based models. Check. Hammer ...

Cork stepped down for family reasons. He wants to spend more time coaching his own kids. He'll never regret that. He did a tremendous job in his 17 years and there was absolutely no need for a change it was just time for him to spend more time with his family. Though he is leaving for all the right...

You can put some blame on the AA coaches who schedule these teams during the regular season. If overloaded A teams could only find games against other A teams, elite players would bail. But as long as they can find 20 decent AA teams willing to play, the kids will stay. Besides one trip to the citi...

I recall former Breck standout Milica McMillen, now a senior at Minnesota, never leaving the ice in a game a few years ago. Of course. I recall Anna Barlow playing at least half of games at State last year as well. I also recall Hannah Brandt double and triple shifting at the regional final...

Reed Larson Award for Boys

How come Let's Play Hockey does a big production for best defenseman for the boys but not the girls?

The Ms. Hockey award usually goes to the top forward.

There aren't really any AA private schools in the other sections, possibly Holy Family/Waconia if you want to count that one.

The penalty discussion is kind of a side story. Hill put up 47 shots on Edina. Edina had 18. Not sure if Hill is that much more talented or if Edina didn't show up.

I am now understanding why the majority of the forum wants the crappy sections to stay the same. It is because the garbage teams that make it to state, like the 3 unseeded this year, bring their whole school to St. Paul to watch. Apparently everyone just wants more fans at the X, not the best teams...

This is a problem with Blake's athletic director not the tournament. No small town is going to have four or five division 1 hockey players on the same team. The high school league should encourage Blake to do the right thing and move up the next couple of years. So it's Blake's fault? Blake's admin...

Not 100% sure but were all AA section finals decided in the third period or overtime? I also understand that most (all?) were played in front of packed houses. Hard to top that. I think if the school league dropped geography and just focused on getting the truly best teams from state you would see e...

Shattuck has about 440 kids. Seven hockey teams. Two and a half rinks. You take away hockey and the overhead from the ice rinks alone would kill it. Hockey barely kept the lights a few years ago when the school was bleeding money.
